As detailed over in this thread,

last year I competed in The Grassroots Motorsports (GRM) $2014 Challenge with this '91 Q45t.

If you are not familiar with The GRM Challenge, it is an Autocross, Drag Race and Concourse event with one underlying rule; you can not spend more than $2015 (price equals the year). All competitors have to provide a detailed budget. There are a couple caveats to the budget/rules. All competitors can have 4 new tires and fresh brake pads that do not have to be counted in budget. Shipping and taxes due not have to be budgeted either.

The '91 took 11th overall, won the People Choice Award, as well as The Most Spectacular Failure Award. Yes, during the drag portion, the engine developed a knock. Since the engine did not seem fit for the 1,000 journey I intended to drive it back home to Ohio, I sold the car at the event to another competitor for $750. I had about $1k into the car and about $500 into new autocross tires = about $1,500. I sold the car for $750 but also won $1k at the event equaling a $250 gain!
I drove home in a Hertz Chevy Cruise.
It is rumored that the car has since had an LS3 and 6 speed installed but I have never confirmed that.

Since then, I have searched for another Q45. Earlier this week, I cast the winning bid on the hail damaged '90 Q45 in Denver. It is now time to start prepping the Q45 GRM Challenge, Deja Vu edition.

Last years car had a Stillen air intake, a JWT brand ECU and Magnaflow mufflers. Being a "t" the '91 had a rear sway bar. It was also a HICAS model.
Aside from the engine failure in the drags, the only hold back the car suffered in the Autocross was the steering ratio seemed generally slow. I hope some of that can be attributed to the HICAS. The autox course at these events are generally pretty wide and favorable to large engine or large body cars.

Needed:
Rear Sway Bar. The '90 is a base model so it will have no sway bar. I would like to find the larger "A" model bar but the '91 had a "t" bar. Does anyone have any leads?

NICO ECU but I would really like to explore NOS this year!

Cold air intake. Does anyone have any leads?

These are 16" OZ rims on the '90 and we had 16" BBS's on the '91. I outfitted the '91 with sticky Hankook RS-3 autocross tires but this time will likely go with Bridgestone RE-71R's. I just put a set on my Autox Miata and they are the stickiest!
Could go to larger rims and therefore larger tires if a super deal could be found on rims. The rims have to be counted in budget, the tires do not. I can also sell off the OZ's and use those proceeds to pay toward the larger rims. Trading is allowed too.
What's out there?

Update:
The Grassroots Motorsports Magazine $2015 Challenge was last week. My '90 Q45 took 10th place overall !

This Challenge is an autocross, a drag race and a concourse with one underlying rule, you can not spend more than $2015 on the entire car.
A Vehicle Information Booklet must be turned in with each entry. Budgets are highly scrutinized.
There are a couple of caveats to the rules/budgets.
1. All competitors are allowed 4 tires that do not have to be shown in budget. (an attempt to make sure all cars are on safe tires.)
2. All competitors are allowed 4 brake pads that do not have to be shown in budget. (again, safety.)
3. You can not purchase the car for more than $2015 but you can sell off half the budget ($1,007.50) and reinvest those dollars into the project. (example would be to sell off interior pieces or high dollar options.)

This hail damaged car with no brakes was bought off State Farm Insurance at auction for $900. Since I am not a dealer then there were auction and broker fees that totaled $400.
$1,300 Full vehicle purchase price.
$22.00 Updated TCU (1st gear start) off ebay.
$60.00 20mm rear sway bar
$40.00 Rear sway bar shipping and removal fee
$250.00 NICO upgraded ECU
$69.71 Rock Auto Invoice including $42 master cylinder that was all it took to fix brakes!
$108.87 Rock Auto Invoice including 4 brake rotors, sway bar links
$9.99 rear sway bar bushings.
$60.00 Alignment

$1,920.57 total budget.

Not in budget, 4 new Bridgestone RE71r autocross rubber in 16" to go with existing vintage OZ brand rims.

Out of the 38 competitors, the Q45 finished:
14th in Autocross (63%)
15th in Drags (60%)
15th in Concourse (60%)
This consistency resulted in a 10th overall finish (73.7%)

We had an entire class of luxobarges that we named The Aristocrats. These included a '95 Lexus LS400 (gutted), '99 Lexus GS400 (full interior), '90 BMW 750iL (gutted and stripped including paint stripped off), '94 Lincoln Mark 8 (some interior weight removed including lightweight race bucket seat.)
My Q45 was raced with its full interior. Quite possible the nicest interior left in a '90 Q45 with only 70k miles.

In this class the breakdown was:
Autox:
Q45: 46.043 aggressive street compound autox rubber, 16" and rear sway bar but otherwise all stock.
GS400: 46.092 aggressive street compound autox rubber, 16" with lower springs, bilsteins and updgraded front and rear sway bar.
750iL: 46.109 true Hoosier slicks on coilovers.

Drag:
GS400: 14.808
Mark 8: 14.913
Q45: 15.031

Concourse:
Q45: 14 points
750iL: 13.5 points
LS400: 12 points
