I bought this 90 240 hatch that has a good amount of rust in the hatch/spare tire well area. Can someone give me an idea on how much it will cost to cut out most of the rear end and weld in a new one? Thanks

Welcome to NICO!
If you're going to do the work yourself, you'll need a welder. This is a fantastic place to start:

More than likely if you take it to a shop, they're going to try and only patch in material to replace the rusty areas versus a full rear transplant. Which is honestly what I would do as well. Trying to remove the rear trunk floor completely is a pain in the butt. I just spent the weekend stripping a hatch and stealing the floor boards and it was definitely not a job for the faint of heart.

However, if you're near the south east portion of Virginia, I know someone with a hatch trunk that would love to get it out of his garage.
