I picked this car up last september for $450. had a blown head gasket and no reverse. typical dents for its age, but with the exception of the hatch, no rust.

so build goes like this.

Interior:Wrapped DashWrapped Trim PiecesWeld in SW Race Cars 10 Point Roll CageGutted and Seam Stitched InteriorCarbon Kevlar Race SeatsG-Force 5 Point Harnesses

Engine and Drivetrain:RB25 Motor SwapSingle Piece Drive ShaftMcKinney Touge Motor MountsFront Mount Intercooler KitK&N Air Filter3" DownpipeCustom 3" Exhaust2" Aluminum RadiatorSilicon Coolant HosesWelded Differential

Now, onto the pics.

first pic i have. back from body work. my ex had all the pics of when i first got it and she deleted em all when we broke up.

painted the engine bay.

everything unmasked

carbon dash insert piece i made out of my old crx hood.

Wrapped the dash

rear tire fitment pre-pulling

interior from the hatch

slammed

off to the paint shop

rear pulled

front pulled

Getting ready to be jammed

all jammed

tinted tail lights

the whole car should be painted tomorrow. my aluminum radiator and silicone hose should be here thursday. once that is in its off to the exhaust shop to have a 3" downpipe back exhaust bent up. then i have to put the interior and a few other things together this weekend, then off to the dmv to register it monday.

Looks like a really clean build. Love the pull on the fenders, extremely clean. Keep up the good work!

Paint looks nice.
if the wheel/tire size and ride height make it a necessity, then so be it.

OP what exactly did you wrap your dash with? looks kinda like felt but im not sure.

To answer the other half of his Q, they are 4 lug.

Nice color and engine, but why the 15in/16in stagger?

Man I wish my 501's had 0 offset. So much better fitment. Oh well I'll just use a spacer to get them to clear my Z breaks when I get them on.

thanks every one for the positive feedback. its very much appreciated.I am psyched to get it all bock together. should be painted and cleared tomorrow. so i'll snap some pics of it all in that nice red. really makes the black interior pop just by seeing it with the door jams red. its gona all come together once that hood goes on.

it is going to be a drift car, and i dont really see why it cant start off as a nice vehicle. got a nice sponsorship through napa for all the paint and body supplies. so it didnt really cost me much to make it look nice.

I went with just a basic color scheme for 2 reasons. i love a clean car that draws attention for detail, not for being over the top obnoxious. it also helps because the cops around here are d!ck. i know just have'n it lowered with rims and exhaust is gona draw enough attention. that whole look is kinda jsut how i build my cars. i'll post a pic of my old crx up in a bit. same detail in that. the death of that car lead to the building of this tho so i guess its all good.

the fabric i wrapped the dash with is just a basic black cotton weave. its kinda like a sweatshirt material. nice and stretchy so it formed around the dash very nicely. i wrapped it with a little help in about 45 mins. deff helped to have an extra set of hands to keep the material off the glue while i waited for it to tack up.

the tail lights are just tinted with some advance auto red anodized spray paint. i then put about 4 good layers of clear over it. i'll wet sand and buff them with the rest of the car. should really pop once its all done.

so thanks again guys for all the compliments. if any one has any other questions just ask. im more than happy to answer any of them.

start

finish

this is the result of letting some 1 else do work on my car. took it to a shop to have an alignment done (usually do them with the tools we use to align our dirt modified) i was short on time so i figured a trusted shop would do a good job. way wrong. the set the alignment straight with he inner tie rod only threaded into the aluminum steering rack 1/8" of an inch. after about 2600 miles of registering the car and driving it, the tie rod pulled out and took the car into the guardrails. didnt even make it to its first oil change after i built it.
