thanks for all the compliments guys. they are all very much appreciated.
the dash had a decent amount of cracks in it. after about 5 or 6 hours of try'n to smooth them out with putty, and have'n them crack back out i just decided to wrap it. i went to our local fabric store and bought 2 yards of a black cotton weave. this one happened to be manufactured in a tube typed manor, so i had to cut it so it was a flat sheet and not doubled up (think pillow case formation). i got some 3m spray adhesive and went to town. i would spray about a foot of the dash let the adhesive tack up for a min or 2, then smooth the fabric over it. have'n an extra set of hands deff helped to keep the extra fabric out of the glue helped alot. it worked well all summer but towards the end started to lift in places, and the fabric lost its deep black color and started to grey a little. not to big of a deal tho for another $20 and an hour of time i'll just re wrap it this winter.
The color is an oem dodge/mitsubishi color. its called inferno red. its originally a tri stage color but the local napa was able to mix it in a 2 stage format. i can't thank napa enuf for all the help with the cosmetics on this car. they supplied all of the paint clear hardener, everything to give it the awesome finish it has. if it wasnt for them it would be in some single stage base paint rite now.
im actually taking a break right now while writing this on working on the engine bay some more. im simplify'n the wiring on the entire chassis. i am tired of chase'n around electrical gremlins in this 20 year old wiring. it is going to be racecar wiring at its best. only the minimum amount of things. headlights blinkers and brake lights. using a marine fuseblock to move all the fuses under the hood to 1 central location under the glove box. and running all the wiring for each side down that designated fender instead of across the core support.
other plans involve tubing out the front fender wells to allow more steering angle. a custom spindle and tierod setup for more angle with much more reliable and competition spec parts. its gona be good, i cant wait to show you all. also going with a holset hx35 turbo larger injectors and a power fc to manage it all. might even add on to the cage to make it pass nhra and d1 specs, aswell as strengthen the car some more. and towards the end of it if the budget still allows i am going to get some of the high density expanding foam for extra strength in the chassis.
so keep an eye out for updates. i'll try to take pictures as everything goes on.
