does anyone know if theres a difference between a manual and a automatic 89-90 240sx ignition lock cylinder/assembly? im trying to buy a new one because mines wore out and ive been told there is a difference but can only find one part number or just doesnt give me an option to choose manual or auto. i need it for a manual. if you have a part number or even any info would be great!

VancouverBC did an excellent write up on replacing the switch.

He has part numbers as well, and it looks like according to him that the auto and manual use the same part (if I remember correctly, he pulled those P/Ns from FAST). When there's an issue like this, I typically tend to call my local dealership and have them look it up. If you have a decently smart parts guy, he'll look up the full number history and see if the two models really do use the same part. Unfortunately, a cursory look through the service manual didn't turn anything up that was useful to you.
