header, full 2inch exhaust no cat or hi-flow, straight thru muffler, 2.75"cold aire intake( make yourslef a box around the filter and utilize the stock airbox fresh air tube for best result) clutch fan delete get sum altima electric fans, light weight flwhyeel, aluminum driveshaft and get 4 lug aluminum rims with 185/65/15 tires ,5 spd if it isnt allready and uhh get urlsef some new injectors for that idle problem if u do all that u shud get like 30mpg on the highway

i think someone has change the exhaust to 2 1/2 not sure about the cat but the stock headers are still on there and i have a injen cold air intake but i dont have it install at the moment and i have aluminum driveshaft. When i get my taxes but i might have to go with new rims, altima electric fans, and new injectors. If I do it all what would i get in town ??

^ Probably not much better. Maybe a mile or so per gallon at the most. Get the idle fixed first and make sure it's not running too rich.

Around 20 in town is normal. If you're doing 70 on the highway, I wouldn't expect much better. The KA, especially a single cam, isn't exactly known for its stellar gas mileage.

Spell check is your friend as well. Reading your guys' posts is quite painful.

Clean your iac and or maf also take your egr out and hit it with a little carb cleaner.

Remove KAE, and install CA16DE. It'll take A LOT of work and money, but I'll bet you can get 35-40MPG!

Email Deatchwerks, they might have stock size injectors. They're one of our advertisers. I've done business with them multiple times and they're great to work with.

oops, missed that one; why are you contemplating on changing them when you're pretty much in the ballpark for the mpg range?

unless they're leaking :gotme should be relatively cheap for this old KA24E nowadays.

I had 2 external leaks back in the late 90s, went on eBay or searched shopping links to get a full set & still holding up (knock on wood)

Did you clean the IACV? That is normally the cause of cutting off when dropping from higher rpms.

I would do all normal maintainance items before moding. New fuel filter, new O2 sensor, clean throttle body, check plugs/wires, etc, etc.

i have yet to clean the IACV. It has been a while since i have done the plugs, plug wires and O2 sensor.I think this weekend i will clean the throttle body and run some more sea foam through it. i will also clean IACV and see if i am up to cleaning the EGR. I am still think of getting new injector and see if that helps with gas milage. does the Ka24e have a slow throttle response ?

Never heard of it. I know throttle body spacers are popular in the V8 crowd?

Since the new fuel pump and header i get like 15 or worse if im driving my car hard... no clue about lightly really before the header and fuel pump i'd say 22 mpg tops cruising like 65

Barely, throttle body spacers are a lot more efficient on carburetors since it helps mix the air and fuel together. All you're really going to do is create a swirl with an EFI car.

agree it'll be pointless on a KA24E. plus, if you still have the original intake runners, nissan already have placed butterfly valves/ swirl control valves there!

(see FSM if you don't believe me) specifically EF & EC-5 and note S.C.V solenoid

as far as your idling problem, check your vacuum lines? or how to clean the IACV?
(on the FSM, look at pages EF & EC-12 for the different names of this type of valve/s)

but as noted before, your mpg is under the "normal" range... you can switch to synthetic oils for motor/ trans/ differential to "help" squeeze more mpg from your tired engine, drive more conservatively, common-sense stuff
