When moving? It could be. If you can get it up on a lift, I would check all the rubber bushings to make sure that they are all still in good shape.

sounds more like a trans mount issue, when the pinion mount goes the pinion lits, often hiting the e brake linkage and makign a ratteling sound at the U joint rubs

Thanks!

Want to do a compression test on this engine, bought a compression kit. What do you unplug ignition and fuel-wise? The fuel pump relay, and unplug ignition coil wire?

when you say unplug the distributor do you mean all the spark plug wires, or the center ignition wire?

yes, as far as the tb i will have my foot pressed on the accelerator pedal at WOT

as in disconnect the 4 prong round connector that comes out the bottom of the distributor, and yes the foot can work, just more consistant if you tie it open

Well I finally did a dry and wet compression test on this car. Had noticed some oil on my spark plugs and suspected the piston rings.

Here are the numbers.

Cylinder 1: 120 psi / Wet 160 psiCylinder 2: 120 psi / Wet 170 psiCylinder 3: 130 psi / Wet 150 psiCylinder 4: 120 psi / Wet 145 psiCylinder 5: 130 psi / Wet 163 psiCylinder 6: 135 psi / Wet 173 psi

Not bad for a 26 yr old Turbo engine. The minimum should be 100 psi, Normal is 140 psi.

Looks like I have a Piston Ring problem though, right?

I'm going to just replace the Piston rings, Head Gasket, and Valve Guide Seals/Stems all at once.

Since I want to put a T3/T04E .50 Trim, .63 a/r turbo on there, Intercooler, 3inch exhaust and turn up the boost.

your readings are low and show worn rings but not so bad it shouldn't run, but if you want to put a fatty turbo on it a fresh bottom end would be a good idea, maybe raise the CR a bit while you're at it
