It's tough to beat Motley Crue, Scorpions and Metallica.

Have you ever heard of "The Baby's?" They were a great, late 70's Hair band. John Waite was the lead singer and later went out on his own. They were really good for their time. Check them out!

you may be large black man, but I'm so gonna have the power of a million metalmaniacs when I bang your head.

Metal Health will drive you mad.

It's Quiet RIOT homeboy

they've apparently released the stuff they recorded with Randy Rhodes that was exclusively in Japan for the longest time over here on a Greatest Hits type of CD btw.

Ah, Seth - You da man.

Actually, the 'ryche wasn't really a "hair band" - more of a 'thinking man's metal band'.

For those of you who haven't had the occasion to indulge, think Iron Maiden (at d!ck's peak), with better musicians, with a heavy Pink Floyd influence (without the psychedelia).

I'm sorry Greg, but they were hair.

what the hell is wrong with you????

If you guys dig Hairbands however, perhaps you should check out Fozzy. It's a band fronted by WWE wrestler Chris Jericho. They mainly cover older songs but have a few originals too.

I love the cover of The Prisoner on their first cd...

what? they came in as little teenie boppers and were made into something they werent to the point that they actually thought they were what the record company wanted them to be?

can you tell that, as a punk, i detest avril?

Nelson will get the same reponse to the mulleteers that avril gets to real punks.

metalsyth wrote:Metallica RulesBut it is hard to say whether or not they actually classify as hair band or just classic metal. They did have the long hair but the music was almost a complete 180 than let say Whitesnake or Quiet Riot and they were also from the 80's
Early Metallica (up until Justice) would not be considered Hair Band material. Their music was heavy metal and no part of their image or music is considered as such. Now everything after Justice, is just plain gay.

My favorite band would have to be Iron Maiden. Classic heavy metal that influenced a lot of other bands. I can still remember wearing a "Live After Death" T-shirt to school in Junior High.

I'm not old enough to remember any of those bands. I don't think I missed out on alot. I do like the eagles, but that's not a hair band either.

Unfortuntaly, Rand Rhoads had died by the time I saw Ozzy, but I loved Jake E. Lee and Zakk Wylde as gutarists in his band.
