We have the animated stuff for the 80's, lets go with the music. No one can deny that influence of so many male hair styles were derived from bands like Poison, Motley Crue, Trixter, Fire House, Slaughter...and the list goes on. If you know an obscure mainstreem hair band...post here...have fun, and let 'er rip.

Anyways, Def Leopard rocks! They may not be a 'hair band' but definitely an awesome 80's band

Styx was not a hair band. They were around in the late 60's...more like a classic rock band, and I love them.
nismofly wrote:oh, boston
And Boston...same as above...classic rock.

But...you could say both those bands were Hair Bands before Hair Bands became famous. Take a look at a group shot of Styx from the jacket of the album Styx II, or Grand Illusion. Both those were released in the 70's. Dennis DeYoung had this fro thing going on as did the drummer John Panazzo. Whoa!

Was never into hair bands. I think they scared me as a child. I did however like Bon Jovi, Van Halen, and Damn Yankees.

When it comes to the 80s though, I like Erasure.

Metallica RulesBut it is hard to say whether or not they actually classify as hair band or just classic metal. They did have the long hair but the music was almost a complete 180 than let say Whitesnake or Quiet Riot and they were also from the 80's

Jayson, D2 is FAR from a "hair band". That's pop junk. Ick.

Jesda, you just HAD to bring up Erasure... Ghey.

How about some Dangerous Toys ("Sportin' a Woody" is a great tune, James!), KIX, Danger Danger, Saigon Kick, Trixter, Cinderella, Faster Pussycat, Dokken, Night Ranger, Vixxen, Winger, Autograph, Bullet Boys, Y&T, LA Guns, Bang Tango, Motley Crue... I could go on and on - great music, great times.
