Very, very bad day for the folks over there. Largest recorded earthquake and then followed by a tsunami...

Prayers go out to anyone effected by this disaster.

ESPECIALLY this time. Go find a corner and sit this one out, okay?

The pictures on the news are horrifying! My condolences to anyone who was involved...

read first, then post. that link says that those predictions cover a time span from whenever it was made until 2032.

:( The thing I find craziest is that these people weren't even making an attempt to get out of the building they were in, except for the first video.

I talked to Blake this morning as well. (adidas2go) He is on a naval carrier headed for Northern Japan to give aid as needed. The videos are just devastating.

The loss of life and property is terrible, but just imagine if that had happened anywhere else. Japan is probably the country that is the most prepared for large earthquakes. Not much you can really do to prepare for the tsunami, which is probably what cause such a high death number. My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected.

Not to downplay the loss of life, but it looks like one of Nissan's shipping yards took a pretty heavy hit from the tsunami.

Hey, guys and gals. I am still alive. Didn't get much sleep. We're STILL getting aftershocks down here.

That 6.6 quake this morning was in Nagano and then again in Nigata.

This ish is just crazy.

It's being reported on Japanese news networks that there are 1000 people dead or missing.
Please keep the nation of Japan in your thoughts. There are lots of families dealing with some real s*** right now.

I'll update more as I can.

Glad you and yours are okay, Neal. Are they advising folks in your area to stay in their homes or go about day as usual?

Next on the list of places to get nailed by a superquake: The West Coast.
Terrible disaster we have on our hands here...I couldn't even imagine what it's like to go through that.
I was visiting california and went to a movie theater while there. Quake hit midway through. It's definitely an experience.
