pretty much summed up the why ! lol once they swaped the sump and oil pan off a 5mgt motor , they motor dropped right in and bolted up to the mounts. i think a little cutting was down around the shifter hole and a custom driveshaft fabbed up. but that was all easy to do.

I'm not too big on mixing manufacturers, but i could definately see it if it was a twin turbo engine out of a newer body style supra. i mean why? that motor is ugly, why not do an sr or KA-T, it looks better. But whatever floats your boat, i guess. But that car is nice except for the rear bumper and dual exhaust.

Why? I'm guessing the same reason people do rb20/25 swaps...

yea, but rb is nissan, not mixing manufactureres there. And i was just saying, if you want a supra engine, go twin turbo. thats all.

I can sort of understand that... but dismissing an engine 'cuz it's ugly is kinda of a ricer statement...

we had a 7mgte with a HKS T04e kit on it, forget the actuall turbo specs, but it made that car scary fast at 15-19psi. drop that into a car thats thousand plus pounds lighter and you have alot of power for not that much money.

Yeah I'd keep it a nissan. Very unique, but in my opinion, not very cool...

Different strokes for different folks! I'd go KA-T lol...

well, that particular motor is very ugly to me...

It very rusted and old looking. If you are going to take the time to swap in a big powerful motor like that, the least you could do is clean it up a bit.

Thats NOT a ricer way to think at all. I would bet that thing probably doesnt have all the lines changed or new belts, etc.

To each his own. I don't have a problem with it anymore. I figured, why be purist? that's like saying you don't like inter-racial children, and we all know that's not true cuz interracial children grow up to be some dem fine looking people don't they?

That couldn't be emissions legal. You are only allowed to swap in a motor that is newer than the chassis.
