I havn't seen a thread for the clutch hydrolics... There is 3 parts. The clutch master, the clutch slave and... There is another part in between the master/slave. What is it??
If your truck is stock this part is located on the passenger side firewall by the heater core lines. I dont list it in my computer so I cannot put a name or function to it.
If anyone knows what it is and/or what it does please fill me in! If no one can explain this item then I'm removing it from the system.

Checked my 81 service manual and my 80-82 haynes, and I find nothing about anything between the master and slave other than good ole hydraulic line. Can't look at my truck for a comparison either, it's an automatic.

clutch damper is I believe the term

It's kind of like a baffle in the hydraulic circuit, and smoothes the operation and "feel" of the clutch.

Performance minded folks usually remove them...

yeah just get a bypass line that just connects the hardline to slave.

Places like SPL sell them.
a thread talking bout it.

THANKS!!! I figured it was something like that...takin it out tomarrow! Also, update... Got it to shift and roll... the clutch is way too tight now so i'll grind the new pushrod down a bit and see if I can stop the slipage.
P.S. using a shoestring for the accelerator until this bug is fixed.

I made a new pushrod for the slave. About 1.5"longer than stock and have been trying it then grinding it down a 1/16" then retrying it...
Got it to engage and disengage but still have a bit of slippage. Ran out of time again last night.
1 last try today after work and if I cannpt get it 'just right' then i'm swapping it all out for the master and slave from an 88 vette.
