I do like the Se-R wheels, and I like some of the Z/G wheels, but most of them are staggered, so finding a match set is tough. I really dislike the M an FX wheels. I see them at work regularly, and I feels they are too bulky. The spokes are just so puffy, it doesnt look right. Its one of the reasons Im not a big fan of the 6th gen SE wheels.Chris92SE wrote:I think I would probably go aftermarket...unless you can find a good deal (like on CL) for something stock that is cool.
For example Altima SE-R wheels, G35 coupe wheels, 350z wheels (track editions are sweet and very light for 18s) M45 or M35 wheels. Possibly even FX wheels.
Check the 6th gen section of the .org and you will find pics of at least some cars with different wheels. Probably a lot more variations on the 5th gens, though.
Those do look nice, but I will NOT do 19" wheels. There is a complete lack of tire selection, not to mention tire cost is much higher. Also, my wife drives this car most of the time, so I would like to be keeping more rubber under the car. Function always > form.jsmithsole wrote:The 7th gen wheels look nice on a 6th:
They are 19's though, but you will be happier with the look of a bigger wheel!!!
I like those, I will have to look into them. I like the silver, and have considered black/gray, but my my wife nixed anything bronze. I had bronze wheels on my S14, and she just didn't dig it.Nismonkey wrote:A nice set of 19 inch 5ZIGEN PRORACER ZR+520's in Hypergun Metalic would look mighty sick IMO...especially on your black max.
They also come in ceramic bronze & chrome silver...
Thats what Im thinking, any idea what the specs are on them.jltibbs wrote:Ian, if you like either one of those wheels (Works or 5Zigen), Just find you a set of the Altima SE-R wheels and be done. The SE-R wheels look exactly like the Works, only better IMO.
A Z tube is the intake tube between the MAFS and the throttle body. The Z version is larger and less restrictive than any of the Gs or Ms with the VQ, so many G owners use them as a cheap, factory looking upgrade. Ive looked at the dimensions, and they are very similar length wise, and I think the Z tube should fit.jltibbs wrote:You talkin exhaust system or CAI?
So far, the best system I have heard for the 6th gen is the Altima SE-R NISMO exhaust. It is a few inches shorter, but some company bought a bunch of the systems and modified them to fit the Maxima. If you can find them, they look and sound sick.
I tend to agree with you, most aftermarket wheels are too busy. Ideally Id like to get a set of SE wheels, but with slightly better sizing. Maybe I will have to settle for SEs with 10 mm spacers all around.MinisterofDOOM wrote:Factor 6th gen SE wheels are some of my favorite wheels EVER. In fact quite a few of my favorite wheels are Nissan OEM. There are even factory Accord wheels that rank high on my list.
Most aftermarket wheels look like crap if you ask me. Too many spokes or too busy or too shiny or too attention whorish. I like a solid, clean, well proportioned 5 or 6 spoke. ESPECIALLY on the 6th gen, which has some mass to the appearance and needs a wheel with mass to the spokes to back it up.
But that's just my view. There are a few 6th gens around here rolling on sub-17'' 8+ spoke wheels and they look absolutely HORRIBLE. Would look a lot better in 18'' but still not great.
I would love to have BBS wheels, but they are spendy, Id like to keep the wheels under $1000.Rex wrote:I like the Altima SER wheels, if not some BBS RGR's ... both of which are forged.
Also the 1st edition 350Z track wheels look great, again forged . You could get 4 fronts or 4 rears to negate the staggered sizing of the 350Z wheels.
Stock SE 18''s are 18x7.5 and +40. I'm not sure what the 17s are, though.FlatBlackIan wrote:Im still trying to figure out what the factory wheel specs are.
I have a set of used 18" BBS RGR's in the gunmetal color with good Yoko ES-100's that I'd make you a deal on ... wheels and tires wouldn't be much more than the $1k + shippingFlatBlackIan wrote:

I like the 350Z wheels, but finding 2 half sets could prove problematic.
I like the G wheels. The more I look into it, the more I like them. They are a little better fitting, and you can find them reasonably inexpensive.audtatious wrote:You can get a set of 18" G wheels. They seem to work well and come in better offsets.
Im intrigued. Whats the sizing on the wheels/tires? Got any pictures?Rex wrote:

If you say so.jltibbs wrote:$250 or less or you got ripped . . .
Hahahaha, Im not too serious about the 275s. I was hoping I would get a funnier reaction. I am going to put one on though. I have a 275 40 18 off a vette sitting at work. If I have time Im going to throw it on one of the wheels just to test fit.Rex wrote:Those shouldn't be too bad fit wise, but you do not want to put 275's on those and try to squeeze them on a Max.
Nice style wheel, and good without being aggressive fit for a wife's DD.
I am moving a set tomorrow for $250 and have another set for $250.FlatBlackIan wrote:If you say so.
