Here's a few pics of the manifold mounted. I wanted to get some with the turbo bolted up, but my buddy came and picked up the manifold to weld the wastegate flange on as I was taking pics.

What studs are you using to mount your manifold?

Would you mind letting us know which studs you ordered from ARP? A part number would be awesome.

theres is no "kit" for the RB series motor but Eric's performance parts sells kits he has made/requested himself...here is links to the kits in his ebay store...they will usually take a best offer so since everything is about 115$ i would say a reasonable offer of 85-95 might just get them for you or you can just do the buy it now option...RB20DETRB25DETRB26DETT

Yup, they're ARP studs from Erics performance parts. Excellent service with fast shipping. I order all my OEM parts through them too.

Did everyone elses manifold come with a set of new studs as well? If I knew they came with it, I never would have bought the ARP's.

Yea thats exactly what i was thinking. So is the bag of studs we received with the manifold is just for mounting the turbo??

The bag of studs includes studs for mounting the manifold AND turbo. I ended up having to cut a couple of my turbo studs because they interfered with the housings. No big deal though.

I've got my manifold bolted on, my turbo's still in the mail.

I'm really not one to post pictures from my crappy 2 megapixel camera, but my digital camera just conveniently broke.

I'm gonna wait until my setup is closer to being finished and find a camera.

Matt,

You and I are running the same turbos and same manifold, I'm interested in any pictures, or info about your setup you can provide me with. Do you have a forward mounted manifold or center?

I have the same issue with the 44mm tube and the 38mm gate. I e-mailed kyle about it and this was his response...

"To answer your question, a 38mm gate is very small on pne of my manifolds. If you are going to run a decent turbo, IE a GT35 or similar, then a 38 will be too small. However if you are running a relatively small turbo, a 38 may be fine. I will put it to you this way, having a bigger (44mm) gate outlet with a smaller flange welded to it, regardless of turbulence, will have better boost control and flow than a small pipe and flange. The bigger opening in the manifold will catch more gas. So I would say if you can afford it, a 44mm gate would be nice, but if not, what you have is better than having had a 38mm pipe on the collector regardless of gate:-)"

I've spent my budget on this new setup. I'll be running the 38mm gate either untill I can afford to upgrade to the 44mm, or if I have massive boost control issues.

I think we should be okay for now, but it isnt the ideal wastegate setup.

So we all got the same size pipe for the outlet??? And i will be glad to share any and all info i have with you. Im glad to see that someone else is going this route. Im worried now that my wastegate outlet is too small. I assumed they were all the same size. Does yours appear to be the same size pipe as the rest of the manifold??? ANd mine is forward facing btw

The bigger the turbo you run, the more exhaust gas it takes to turn the turbine, so you can run a smaller gate. I'm sure a 38mm will be fine for both of your setups.

True but you *might* be susceptible to spiking and maybe creeping with a small w/g. Honestly the reason I did this GB is because of that, I got tired of the creeping and spiking with the ssacrap manifold. The 6boost seems well designed so it can prevent that, but there is no hard evidence to prove it. I was going to keep my 40mm HKS, but i decided against that and ordered the 50mm Synapse. Got a great deal on ebay with ms live cashback

it also depends on how much boost you plan on running. Low boost on a Large turbo requires a larger wastegate...

i was under the impression 6 cylinders wont have any problem out running 38mm wasteagates.

UMS in phx told me theyve seen SRs run them out. If you wanna make any decent hp, id go with the 44mm.

...or dual 38s

I told kyle to make mine for a 50mm wastegate, and the ID of the piping matched up to the flange perfectly. The wastegate tube is a little bit larger diameter than the rest of the manifold.

Here is another crappy cell pic with the wastegate mounted.
