I actually have two diaries that i acquired both were started a few weeks before d-day one is by a paratrooper in the 82nd and the other is by one of the rangers that had to scale Point Du Hoc. Pretty crazy stuff, i have a German pistol some cameras and various odds and ends from the second world war as well.

Let me know if you need to translate anything, I'm almost fluent in German (I need to spend about 2 weeks in Germany before I consider myself fluent again).

Its important to remember that type of stuff... just because they were on the other side, doesn't mean they were very different from us... they were just following orders.
Dangerous statement, common sense and humanity need to come before "following orders"...

They were VERY DIFFERENT from the "us" (American and Allied forces), total opposites even....they killed innocent unarmed civilians...

Im not a military guy, but I think that anyone who served would be upset by your statement to some extent.

Ive spoken with 5 or 6 Holocaust survivors, some of them while I was traveling in Israel... It seems like its all good stuff to make movies and games about etc, but it becomes REAL really fast when you see a number tattooed on someones arm.

Hearing the war stories from a soldier who fought for the US is moving, hearing the stories of a Jew who survived the death camps is terrifying.

If you look back almost every nation has done ethnic Cleansing not saying its right by any means. Look at the American Indian's for instance US soldierswhen they killed all then they were doing was just "following orders".

As for former soldiers being upset i doubt this. When you join shortly after you realized your pretty much a pawn on a very big chess board and the only hatred you have for them is because there killing you buddies. You dont do it for your country, nor the flag or for mom back home its done for the guy next to you

there's alot more i can say on this topic but i'd rather not ,its touchy.

VERY TRUE!

But you also have to consider the fact that a lot of the soldiers that were fighting the war (as in, the soldiers that were fighting us) were unaware of the type of s*** that was going on in the camps...

so yeah, some of those f***ers knew exactly what was going on... but the average guy that was on the german front lines didn't... which is what I was talking about.

I rented a DVD about the Battle for Midway a couple months ago. There was a bonus section about war photographers. Some of the photographs they showed were very moving. WWII was an incredible war, all hands on deck on all fronts war. The DVD was put out by National Geographic and details Robert Ballards hunt for the USS Yorktown lost during the Battle at Midway.

I know it's not your intentions by any means (at least I hope not), but wearing those would almost seem like you were a fan of the NAZIs... Just sayin'.

I know what you mean snwbrder, but wearing their apparel is a little different than having one of their guns or something of that nature.

Well, I have both of these items are appreciation of a historical item, I don't practice any biased political believes so my intention of should of had been clarified a little. I also owe a veteran metal for Chinese solders that fought in the Korean war from the late 50s :)

Stug IV is the shat haha. I actually play Company of heroes and Commandos, those two PC games both take time in WWII I believe. So I too myself find quite a bit of items familiar :)
