7443 6000K WHITE 120-LED SMD TURN TAIL/STOP LIGHT BULBS

You will need an electronic flasher unit (something like this), otherwise the turn signals will flash extremely fast because the system thinks there is a dead bulb due to the low current draw of a LED bulb.

Ok thanks. So the code for the corner bulbs is 7443?

At least on an '01, the Stop/Tail bulbs are 7443. You want to use a red LED there. I used a 7443-R45-T from superbrightleds.com. It has 45 surface mount LEDs. I used to have 7443-15 from the same place and they weren't bright enough.

The turn signals are 1156NA. You would use a Yellow LED there, if you can find one.

The 2002 Pathfinder Sylvania bulb guide is identical to the 2001 guide. The owner's manual also states that the front combination bulb is 7443. The stop/tail bulbs are also 7443.

I am thinking about getting some 7443 LED tail lights for mine. Can someone explain more to me about the electronic flasher unit needed. Where and how do they install? Are any of the ones off Ebay any good? Thanks

The flasher is significant for turns signals only. 7443 are for the tail/stop lights, and no change to the flasher is required.
LED brake lights are good (they turn on faster than incandescents (over a car length at freeway speeds)) but I can't see any
reason for LED turn signals.

Are white turn signals legal on a 2002?

That's good to know the unit is only needed for the turn signals and not the brake lights. As for white turn signals, yes, it is illegal in most state. Most laws require orange, amber, or red for turn signals. Most law enforcement won't bother you about it but who knows when you will get one of those really strict by the book on everything highway patrolman. They will be more strict on the rear turn signals (since they are the most important) then the front ones.

Ok, I installed my clear corners and got a rude awakening that the bulbs were clear and the "amber" was a plastic shield in the OEM corners.
I've decided that I will move forward with Switchback LEDshttp://www.v-leds.com/Exterior-LED-Bulb ... 8-1-2.html (to match my HID headlamps when on and dual as makeshift DRLs because I have yet to figure out the independent foglight mod), I remember reading a thread here somewhere but couldn't find it. Anyway, will the electronic flasher unit mentioned above take the place of the resistors I've been hearing so much about?

My buddy has switchbacks in his Ranger and he installed an electronic flasher. Works just fine. There's a bit of lag when first engaging a turn signal or hazard lights, and the time between flashes is a little different, but that might just depend on the flasher unit. I can't imagine there being an issue with switchbacks in a Pathfinder. I look forward to seeing your results if you choose to install them.

that looks sick! I wish I had seen this before. Anyway, hopefully my bulbs will arrive on friday and I can install them and try them, and post a video of how it looks and works.

You ordered the switchbacks? Sweet.
I'm still on the fence because I hear you lose the blink confirmation when you lock your doors.
I'm a tad anal about that, sometimes I press lock about 3x for 3 blinks haha.

well i cannot confirm that because my alarm is disabled or unprogrammed idk, and i have been to lazy to try to program it so I never get a blink confirmation lol

I don't mean to hijack this thread but on my 02 qx4, when I use my turn signal, only the orange fog light blinker flashes.. Are my corners also supposed to blink? The previous owner installed a viper alarm and might've messed up the lighting.

@edogg, excellent. How fast are we talking? I'm thinking of getting LEDs for the back as well.

I had switchbacks from Autolumination, there is no black out between the amber white. it just goes amber white amber white when signal is engaged. Unfortunately after 2 years of use, the amber has fried and i am back to sitting with halogens. I dont feel like dropping 70 bucks + shipping for the lightbulbs no more. They were sweet bulbs though. just not worth the coin

The fog light signals are all that flash up front. Making the park lights into functioning signal lights as well is possible though, and on my to-do list of future mods.

1) Does anyone know what type of flashers I need to order?

2) Where is it installed? Everyone says somewhere under the steering column, but I don't know.

Ah ok.. I always assumed that the corner lights would also light up for some reason... I stupidly ordered 68 smd led bulbs for my actual fog lights without looking at the housing. Upon installation, I realized that the bulbs would not fit so now I ordered some 18 smd led's.

Anyone know where I can find an electronic flasher unit so that it does not blink too fast?

1) I must be absolutely retarded, but is this under the steering wheel? Do I need to remove panels or anything?

2) Is 16.99 too much to pay for one? (V-LEDs) Just wanna order everything I need in one order.

Thanks Towncivilian!
