Yes, under the steering wheel. Looks like the entire undercover has been removed, since you can see the fuse panel, data port, etc. I'm not sure how easy it'll be to access with everything in place.

I'd rather pay more for quality LEDs than some garbage eBay stuff with poor or no quality control.

I'm getting them from V-Leds, forums across the web have touted their reliability.

@04LEMASS, Haven't ordered them yet.
I had a Xenon HID projector retrofit done with FX-R projectors. No Halos though.
So we don't go off topic I'll link you to my thread. To my knowledge only two members have retrofits and we both got them done by the same guys.

In case anybody finds this thread in the future, here is the combination flasher unit's location for any 1996 - 2004 R50:

It's the black box in the center of the picture.

I may or may not end up doing this because I'm pretty sure I'm selling/trading the car in soon, but what exactly did you take off?
By black box you mean that box with the white cap on it?

The larger black box with the gray text on it is the flasher unit. I'm pretty sure all you need to take off is the lower instrument panel. The picture is of a 96 Pathfinder I found at the junkyard.

Looks like it will, the pin configuration looks the same as the one posted in the picture on the previous page.

Looks like Pep-boys has the LED compatible relays for $13. (I just moved and there's a Pep boys up the street, usually I shop autozone/napa)

I have LEDs coming next week, and will probably swap out the relay rather than doing in-line resistors.

I swapped out my flasher relay yesterday with the one from Pep Boys.

Not too difficult, but you do have to remove the lower plastic portion of the instrument housing to get to it. -The plastic bellow the staring wheel(2 screws & 3 clips)-To remove that you have to remove the plastic portion near the drivers door (1 screw & 1 clip).

The OEM flasher on my year is mounted upside down and clipped in there. It took me some acrobatic positioning to get it out. Thinner/smaller folks might have an easier time...

The replacement is lacking the fobs to clip back in place upside down, so I gorilla taped it to a metal frame to keep it from flopping around.

What is the flasher part number? Is it Tridon EP34 or EP34L?

Pep Boys lists it as:

Tridon (Novità Tech) Electronic Flasher
Part # EP34C   SKU: 8436373
LED compatible Made in USA

But the package is just EP34. Seems all of there flashers have "C" as the last letter on the aisle tags, but none of the packages ended with it. The packages all just ended with #.

Works fine, seems to flash a faster-not quite twice as fast. Makes the "blink" noise.

Edit-adding: Flashes at the same rate with LEDs as it does with regular bulbs. I used it Sunday & part Monday with regular bulbs. Installed LED rear (blinkers/brake/reverse lights) Monday afternoon.
