Danger69 has a template at the top of the page in the audio section....It says get your 240sx speaker template here. I used it and posted pics also. You guys are making it harder than it really is. Start at 1/4" material and if the speaker his then you need to go thicker untill it stops touching. A jigsaw is all you need to cut the speaker holes. Cut on inside of line and trim with dremel if it's not enough. Hell I cut mine out with a sawzall and they work fine. It's only a piece of wood if you mess up then start over. You will get it right eventually.

how much better do these speakers sound. I just installed 4x6 infinity reference speakers... theyre quite nice compared to the stock 15 year old crap i had in the car initially...

I wonder with these adapters, do the speakers get mounted properly under the door cover? Or do they stick out of the cover. I want to retain the stock look of the door cover... I've seen one guy install 6.5 or something bigger I forget what he had, and his speakers were sticking out of the door cover (like the black plastic piece that says active speakers was gone).

They sound great, mainly b/c of the improvement in soundstage from being able to mount the tweeter higher in the door (on component sets at least) and you get better mids from a 6.5 than a 4x6. Whether or not they stick out of the door depends on the material you use to make the adapters. I used 3/16" Lucite and they looked like this when finished.
