Okay, these may seem like stupid, noobish questions but I'm just MAKING sure I get everything right before I spend loads of money on all of this stuff. Now, I've heard that OEM 5 lugs are the best product for the actual 5 lug conversion; is that true? Now, after that, would I need anything else besides a brake kit? (I'm really leaning towards Z32) Also, my 240sx is NOT an SE, which means no ABS, so would the Z32 brakes still work with no ABS? Also, could I find Z32 brakes cheaper at a junkyard? So if anyone has answers, any help would be greatly appreciated. Sorry if I seem like I know nothing, but again, I just want to make sure before I spend all of this money.

I have Z32 brakes with no ABS. If you can find those brakes at a junkyard then yank 'em and spank 'em cause in my experience most of these junkyards have no idea what they have or they would be charging alot more for these parts!

I've never seen calipers on z32s in junkyards. They are the very first part to go. OEM 5 lug hubs are the strogest and offer best fitment. z32 calipers are the most bang for the buck brale upgrade. Try eBay, Autozone and stuff. They are plenty out there, but it's not as cheap as it used to be.

I also have another question, will I need a special hub puller tool to remove the hubs or are they bolted on or something?

4 bolts are in the back of knuckle holding the hub. Air tool comes in handy, but still you can remove them with a breaker bar. No special tools needed.

Rather than start another new 5 lug swap thread i'm just gonna throw a few more questions on the fire here. I'm doing a swap on my S14.

So the hubs are removed with just 4 bolts? Does that remove the bearing aswell? It was my understanding that the hub was pressed into the bearing, if i'm correct then i assume the 300zx bearing is the same? And finially, and most importantly, can anyone tell me weither or not R32 hubs are the same? There's some for sale localy that i'd like to pick up but my car is in shipping so i can't compare to see if they'll bolt up. Thanks, didn't mean to threadjack, just wanted to add to the disscussion.

I figured there would be a FAQ or a write up on 5 lug swaps here, its one of those things i've known about for years but until now i didn't need the details...

If you buy z32 or Ichiba hubs, thise 2 parts are already pressed in. ALl you need to do is take old one out and put new one in.

You will follow silmilar steps in this thread to replace hubs.zerothread?id=277821

You don't need spindle. All you need is rear NA z32 hubs and they are direct swap. Front is different though.

Another quick question.

I'll be doing a 5-lug swap and front brake upgrade soon. I don't really want to do the rear swap yet (I looked at the thread, looks like a lot more work than I currently have time to do). So what do I do for the rear brakes?

Oh, and also, can I just press out the bearings from the hubs all around, or will I need the s14 uprights and bearings for the fronts as stated in this writeup? I'm trying to get all the parts together, so it would be nice if I could unexpectedly save some money.-fuse.

For the fronts, if using the S14 knuckle, you will need the S14 bearing/hubs. The spindle the bearings ride on is a bigger, beafier piece. In the rear, use the complete bearing hub. Wether it be S14, or Z32. I would not recommend mixing and matching bearings unless you have confirmed matching part #'s.

OEM for the conversion pieces with extended lug studs. And that is only because I prefer them there long chunky lug nuts.I received the Muteki SR48's a couple of weeks ago. I like the fact they are not aluminum. Just a side note there.

What about a J30 5 lug conversion? Spindles, hubs, brakes, rotors, everything.

Will 240 springs fit on the J30 front Strut? That is the only way I can see it working.

hey quick question for you. i have access to free z32 parts. so for the 5 lug swap in the front could i possibly get the whole knuckle/spindle and hub assembly instead of just getting the hub? or does the z32 use a different knuckle? the parts are free so i'd rather get to use those if they work. thanks
