Wow, that looks really smooth on your zenki S14. I'm quite impressed with the looks.

To bad I'm in the pignose camp and have other things to worry about at the moment to get my 240 on the road...legally. I'll have to talk my cousin into this for his Miata.

ill be puttin it on my zenki tmrw morning. Got it at HD, the guy told me to get Vinyl since its much more resistant to weather than rubber which soaks up moisture and stains.

just a heads up : )

plus vinyl is cheaper

brisknfade how did u install it? any pointers for me tmrw?

PS and he also said that double sided tape will contract after time and will unstick from the vinyl.. how long have u guys' lips lasted on with that?

i actually had to apply it twice. The first time it was uneven and it looks all wavy with some parts higher then the others and was caving in towards the car because it was too low.

I just put some 3M double sided tape that i got at Autozone and applied it all along the length of the vinyl. I then had a freind help me hold it straight and just took off the backing of the tape and stuck it on in maybe 6 inch sections trying to make it as straight as possible. You just want to try not to mount it too high that its covering the whole bottom of the bumper or too low that it actually bends inward towards the car.

It took like 15 mins all together but it ended up better then what it was like when i rushed it. And i guess mine has been on there since early May. If it falls off, ill just spend another 10 bucks and make some more

i think where i screwed up is when I bought the vinyl in 2 seperate sections. I haven't visited home depot yet, I just went to lowes and all they had was a HUGE roll and then 4ft sections. Axel, yours looks really good, Its not caving in and it looks very even all around. I'm missing one of those plastic things that goes on the fender so i'm just going to wait until I get it so I can make a perfect lip.

Yea, first one i made was a split piece one. Looked so obvious. I drove out a good ways away to a home depot that had them in rolls and i cut out lik 8 feet.

I think the money i spent on the gas to get there and back cost more then the lip.

heere we go.

the tape cost more then the lip lol (had to buy a 36 foot roll for 20 bucks) industrial exterior tape.. 5lbs it said on it heh

anyway:

put it on during lunch at work hehe

it is flimsy as hell so im definately gonna have to reinforce it.. gonna figure out the best way to go at it.. maybe ill put a metal strip and to that attach some L plates which i can screw into the bumper bottom there are screw holes there.

looks hawt tho.. for an 8$ in materials mod haha

I was thinking about the L plates too lastnight while I was trying to get to sleep...that is probably the best way to do it.

Yea they only had the 4 inch one there.. i mean it sticks down only 3 inches cause 1 inch holds it onto the bottom of the bumper. flush with the sides heh

I found some more wall base at home depot that is a LOT stronger and stable than the first stuff i used on my car, i think it is sturdy enough to not bend but I dont know about using 2 side tape, you might need to put a few screws in... i will post pics soon

Here's a pic of my new lip.. it's not shiny. It's a lot more durable, doesn't bend inward either.
