My friend gave ma a good 5.0 ford roller motor. It has SVO cam, holley heads and intake. It has about 400 hp at the crank. How hard would it be to install the small block. Is there anyone where I can gete engine mounts? I realize this will be a little difficult, but I also know that it will give my 240 some serious yank. My car is just too weak. All replies greatly appreciated.

All custom stuff...it will fit and has been done.

Get out the welder and SawZall, report back when you're done.

Hasn't someone put a 350 in a 240 before? Well, for one thing I know you are gonna need custom motor mounts and a custom driveshaft. Search for it maybe something will come up.

My dad is a machinist; he can make my driveshaft. I would rather buy the motor mounts. If I already have the motor in the car, he will make me a shaft, but if I ask him to fab up the mounts he will call me childish and a gas-head. He does not like speed. I am looking at a Ford AOD for my transmission. I know that the hard core races would rather see a T-5, but an auto would be better every day, and would do much better burnouts because of no need to lift throttle when shifting. Also, where can I find a higher geared rear than the one that I have now.

Who said anything about lifting the throttle when you shift? Why would you want to take such an unnecessary action as that? You kids these days just don't know how to tear stuff up the "RIGHT" way anymore.Or maybe you have just never had the privilege of being around drunken adults or older siblings who showed you how to properly shift gears,i.e. W.F.O.
where are you in tennessee i am in clarksville i may be able to help you
I live in Savannah, about 2 hours south of Clarksville. as far as shifting WOT, I need my car to last a little while longer, at least until my truck is finished. I bought a 91 hardbody, and I was wanting to put my KA in the truck since it has no motor. I think that my KA may have more power than a stock truck KA, but I don't know. I need a little more juice in the car to pull me and my 350lb girlfriend. (just kidding!) Also where can I find a high output alternator for my 240 until I install 5.0? My stocker is very weak, and my car dies every time I hit a low note.

I have 2 w7 12's w/ 2 1000/1 amps for my low bass, 2 w0-8 for my mid bass playing off of a 300/4 along with my components. all JL of course. I only have a regular battery as well, no room in the trunk for more yellow tops.

Running a 5 year old factory Hyundai battery. Don't laugh, it was free! I was wondering if an aftermarket company offered a motor mount kit and transmission mount. My friend at autozone said when he gets some return Optimas, he will sell me some yellow or blue tops for 20 each. He said that the red ones are crap.

Well there is your problem, get a yellow top, if problem still exists get another yellow top and put in the trunk, car still dies after low base notes? get a 1.0 farad cap for each amp, didn’t help? then and only then do you need a high output alternator, and i never saw one made for a 240...good luck...

I have a fosgate 1 farad, but no more room in trunk because of box. It is wall fashion where my back seat used to be, and it extends through the opening into the trunk to get a full 8 ft3 without going above the dash in back. Behind the box is my amp rack, and with 3 big amps and cap and distribution blocks, it is a little crowded. Maybe I can take out my front seat too for a battery rack! I can't find a alt anywhere. Nor motor mount kit.
