4WAS unit inside trunk - How do you access it?

Can someone tell me how to access the main 4WAS controller that I believe is in the trunk of the car

This is the best I can offer at this point. It seems someone was successful with these directions.

It is located at the left side of the trunk. Remove the trim pieces from the left wall of the trunk room and you should find the 4WAS main control unit that carries it. Think of it as where the fuel tank filler neck would be if it were on that side.

...I saw that someone said replacing this might work.

Have you considered getting a professional diagnosis to tell you exactly what is wrong with your system specifically?
