Coolwhip- When you say high revving, do you mean above a certain number? Or are you just saying high in general. I plan on having a 7500 limit. But I also plan on being there frequently while drifting. Do I need this mod?

Search for "crank collar" since this issue is lengthy, off-topic, and has been covered in depth already. No need to clutter up another build thread with it.

alright, thanks ricky. ill be sure to correct that dude for making me not want to change my oil pump lol..

oh and i was gunna call you about how to get the fittings on top of the valve covers out, but i figured it out lol. the just pulled right out. with a little help

Also, say i wanted 450whp around 540bhp i guess.. would i need to replace the oil pump and get a jun crank collar? i have been reading in threads about it, and the phrase "High Revving Motors" i.e for drifting, i am not looking to do any high revving.. just for a weekend fun car.. so would it really be all that neccesary to do this.. i mean replacing the pump will be no big deal, i just want to know with how i am going to run my car, is it mandatory? Thanks.

You know, i was thinking, what is the possibility, that this issue has already been appointed to on my motor? cause, when i popped the valve covers, it was like heaven, i was amazed at how clean they were.. and i know that the importers didnt clean it, because all of the screws were on tight, there was no oil residue or anything, except, for what looked to be like a tad bit of residue or something over cyl. 6 on the intake side, it was brown, and hazy.. and another reason i know it wasnt cleaned is because the cams are pretty as a penny, and there was like grease and oil on the out side of the valve covers.. so if they did possibly clean them, why would they clean the inside and not the outside along with it? i would love to look, and see a jun crank collar, or a set screw, or even a NEO crank lol.. That would be great.. so what would be the possibility of that? i guess i just got to look for myself, i guess i will when i replace the timing belt.. i know it probably isnt true, but if it is, how would i identify whether it was a jun, or tomei, or i guess if it had a set screw it would be noticable, come on my japanese friend who had the engine before me, please tell me you did some of the dirty work for me!!!!!

but then again, it is only a stock motor, so maybe the oil pump may be fine, and the collar itself, but when i get 450hp or so, im sure the way it acts will change...

Also sorry for cluttering, i just figured since this thread, is about what is needed to be done to reach 450whp.. i try to get as detailed of a question i could out on this subject so it wont have to be asked again... and this is a main factor on whether or not your engine will be reliable at 450 i guess..

Edit: and Just for the people that have this concern too (mostly everyone, whether they know it or not, or if they have already fixed it.) I did some searching and basically answered my own question.. but i would still like to hear what Nico has to say about it. here are the sources i used..

First Searched NICO:

And Finally, one of the most imformative dudes to create a thread on oil IMO:
