Yeah, like I said I was able to drive the sellers car with the motor still in it. It runs great and the motor looks real good. No leaks, no weird noise, and it pulls really strong. I know I'll end up paying a lot more if I were to start from scratch. I've already put a little bit down for deposit. Plus this guy is one of the head mechanics at the top Nissan shop here so I'm sure he knows how to put a motor together right.

That's cool. I've found that many "professional" installs are anything but, so DIY, having a friend help, or finding someone who knows what they are doing (and doesn't want a ton of $) is the best way to go.

I'd be leary of that deal then if that's all the guy wants. Might be he has a bad turbo or he might not know how much they sell for.

I ended up buying the motor. It's already in my car wired up and everything. Only thing I'm waiting on now is for my transmission fluid because I couldn't find any GL-4 locally. Whenever I have time I'll put the intercooler and the rest of the piping on.

If you need a reasonably inexpensive motorset talk to the people at JHOT Denton, TX location. Good service and cheap shipping. There are also other shops in Texas that could probably obtain an SR for fairly cheap.

LOL, yes I've driven turbo cars. This is my second SR. Both my nephews have SR's. One of them pushing 16 psi. I've also driven a '94 TT Supra. Do big detroit deisel and caterpillar engines count? hahaha jk. I know what you mean though. My first time driving a turbo car scared me a good bit , but ofcourse I wouldn't have admit it. Even the first time driving my SR back then scared me a bit too. Oh yeah, this is my daily, but I also have my wife's '02 SE-R for back up.

Did you feel the shrapnel from the turbo fly through the firewall and all four pistons shoot through the hood at the same time too?
