10hp loss? More like 30% loss, this is the argument between turbochargers & superchargers.

Turbo: theres a lag and youll have to replace it before you would have to get a new SC BUT it doesnt take power to make power and its not limited

Supercharger: cost power to make power, on average [30%] loss BUT the power is instantaneous and supposedely the unit will last forever.
