If you bump the starter over and over, it will probably help. That was what I had to do.

Ok.. First off, you would have to run 23psi+ of boost at 1600rpm plus support around 85%+ VE at that RPM to even have this story be believeable.. 400ft.lbs won't make 120whp anywhere else in the RPM range..

Check voltage on the other side of the solenoid (going into the motor), while someone is cranking. If you have it, then you have a bad motor, if not look at your solenoid or before. If you can just jump over the solenoid and get the motor to crank, then it is bad. All a solenoid is is a super duty relay, so they function the same way.

ok will do thanks chezedik but when the solenoid goes out doesn't it stay out. what doesn't make sense is it starts 50% of the time. when a solenoid goes out doesnt it go out for good? i bypassed the safety neutral switch so maybe the wires have come undone by where i bypassed it. However, im throughly going to inspect everything tomorrow when i drive back home.

I would say that, but I have had them do that. After a while, I just carried around a spare starter, for when it finally did die. I totalled the car first.

BTW, for anyone who is concerned about this massive thread-jack. Just look at the title.

Without a dyno results sheet, this is what the thread is.

I wonder if that is the problem with the starter? Maybe an issue with the flywheel? Anyway, I still have that clutch I had, but it is supposed to be sold. Only I was told by the person that they sent payment on the 5th, still isn't here. Now they don't return my email.

The more I think about it, the less likely it is that this can be true. Unless, of course they swapped in a Cummins Straight 6.

anyone ever think he might have meant 420hp instead of 120? 420 sounds better with 400ftlbs than 120hp. And he said the run was in 3rd gear. Isn't the run supposted to be in 4th gear? For more of a 1:1 GR. Still, I'm callin fo sho my mizzle fizzle dizzle bizzle.
