Thats what people have said. I figure at least you can turn it off.

TBH I have never played a wii, but think it sounds kinda cool. Never got why people go so ape**** over motion detection on one consol...and don't even seem to care about it enough to include it in games on another.

I think its because people play wii expecting to jump around...thats the point of it. People play there PS3 and want to lay back, don't want to have to deal with it. I just think its nice to have the option there, and if its done well I think its pretty cool and could be really fun (though at times even I'f I loved it I would likely turn it off so I can just sit back and play)

Yeah, its the same way with vibration with me. I usually turn that **** off right away. I dont get how making the controller vibrate at one of two speeds is suppose to immerse me in the game more. All the shooters I play I have the vibration turned off. It probably will be the same with GTA.

HAHAHA, one of the things with PS3 is that the stock controller doesn't have rumble anymore...and I couldn't care less. I saw some articles making a deal out of it and was confused.

A rumbling controller doesn't simulate much beyond holding a scared chiwawa, and I come across that in surprisingly few of the games I play.

It is a totally pointless invention. It actually does the opposite of what it's supposed to do. I can imagine it now...cruising through Liberty City and I've got 3 squad cars behind me. The radio is blasting, but I'm concentrating on apexing my turns to try to put a few more seconds between myself and the police. I take a few shots at the cops, but its hard to aim when you're flying through the streets. I pull out the grenades, and cook one in preparation for the car just 30 feet behind me. I throw the thing out the window and...the control rumbles. For 3 damn seconds. At the same speed.

And instantly I remember that I'm playing a ****ing game. I'm seriously going to find a piece of paper right now and write down with a Sharpie "TURN OFF RUMBLE ON GTA IV"

I'm getting the Ps3 version, reasons being

1) I could give a crap less about DLC ohhh we get another mission for...10 bucks 2) From what i've read the 360 has some issues with loading textures b/c it has to stream it from the dvd. Ps3 loads about 3.4 gigs on the hdd and doens't have such a noticable issue. 3) Playstation controller 4) From what Kotaku has said the sound is alot better on the playstaion.

Those are ma reasons.

What I don't understand:

Can't the PS3 do downloadable content just as easy as xbox? We have the play station store...we get downloads?

Apparently they just don't want to give it to us? The market is there, why is no DLC such a given when its technically possible and most people want it?

PS3 comes with a hard drive, only some 360s do...if anything you would think that since all PS3's have disk space it would be us who get DLC?

Oh well, I must admit I have SA for computer...and even though mods/addons are free for that I never really finished up enough with the original content to go find more.

Well, for one, its not a mission, its many. You must be crazy if you think they would actually sell a mission for 10 bucks, and they would be even more so. They are episodes, meaning that it will contain extra story missions that probably will spin off another tangent of the story. And Kotaku did say the sound was better on PS3, but they didn't say "a lot better", which would make it seem like the 360 version sounds like ****, which is very far from the truth.

It was speculated that the 360 would offer an optional install, but they didnt. That sucks, since it would solve the issues with pop in things would load a little quicker. Oh well, the game will still be incredible regardless of the system.

If I remember correctly, Microsoft procured rights for the DLC exclusivity. Sony did a similar thing for each GTA release these past 7 years. They procured console exclusivity for x-amount of time. I bet you'll see all the same DLC features pop up for the PS3 in the future.

I'm not so sure. The official word is that its EXCLUSIVE downloadable content. If it was timed exclusive, I think it would be worded differently. Also, $50M doesnt make sense for a timed exclusive. Many people (including me) think that paying $50 million on DLC is pretty damn high even if it will stay only on the 360. Being that its that much money, I would think it will stay on XBox. I wouldnt be surprised if the PS3 gets something though, just wont be those episodes. But who knows. The game industry is bigger than movies now, so anything could happen.

Kinda what I was thinking, I mean...to compensate for the loss of revinue from NEVER EVER being able to sell PS3 DLC Microsoft would have to put up A LOT of money....I'm sure the pile was plenty large but I can't see it being that big.

I think we cant get the same content as the 360, and ms would have to have paid much more than 50mil to kee R* from releasing more content for its own IP.

Check the link we are getting some thing but not sure what. http://www.qj.net/Rumor-GTA-4-...16992

The $50 mil is for 2 exclusive episodes, no more, no less. So no, I DONT think the PS3 will see the episodes, but obviously the PS3 will get something in the form in DLC I would think. It doesnt mean that R* cant do any other DLC, they just cant offer those episodes on PSN. Thats why I think the $50 mil is a pretty big number for two episodes, even if they are exclusive (which I believe they will be).

Yeah, but how much money total do you think sales of downloadable content would have brought in had it have been allowed on PS3?

The majority of the cost of production would have been covered already, and it would only really cost as much as it does to take missions they already have and convert it to PS3 format (However they do it...I doubt this step represents a significant portion of the production budget)

So MS would have to compensate R* for all those lost sales on the PS3 side...That would be a huge amount...The xbox does seem to be winning in most of the "What format are you buying" polls Ive seen, but the PS3 numbers aren't that far behind... Thats some where between 1/3-1/2 the potential profit that could be made if it was open to everyone having to be made up some where... Is it worth that much to MS to ensure PS3 owners will never had it when they could just buy a temp deal for so much less, like sony did in the past.

What do I know

From what that article says the episodic content is not exclusive to the 360 its a timed exclusive so maybe in a few months we get the same stuff.

Your article? Thats not even close to what it says. It actually says the exact opposite. Maybe you were reading something else?

Your article states that its possible but extremely unlikely that its a timed release. Dont get your hopes up because I can almost guarantee you that those episodes wont make it to PSN. Again, $50 is an exorbitant amount of money for 100% exclusive content, I'm positive that they wouldnt offer that much to get just a couple months jump on the PS3.

Now you know how I felt trying to explain how I feel about Last Stand killers lol...I wasnt pissed, just frustrated that no one got and/or felt the same about what I was saying. Beer + weed is awesome for curing this.

And HEY, I get to run to the mall in two and a half hours to buy GTA IV!

I got this game, I have been playing it for a bit and then it froze on me 2 times within a half an hour of playing. I see that a lot of PS3's are suffering from this, not just launch titles and not just the 60gig versions like falsely reported at 1st.
