My bad. I guess I got tired of reading a little to early.

I love F1, unfortunately I don't have cable and I live in the future home of the wonderful Nascar hall of fame so I don't hear much about it anymore...

So can somebody just get a MOD to rename this thread and delete all of what'shisnames posts?

no the untrue words spoken must be left for the newbs to see what a lie looks like on nico.

1 kid lies, 1000 men tell him to stfu show proof or go poof.

shions14 that is mostly why I bought the car. I knew they are slowish cars factory, but can out handle alot of higher dollar cars stock with only 195~205 tires. I had a sentra too it was real slow but fair in the cornering department.

bgvin, I dont pay attention to sr20det's but... do they really do about 14.9 stock? I thought they were in the 13's stock. what kind of hp(crank hp) would you need to put an s13 into the high 13's?

Depends on the sr20det. A Black top will make high 13's stock. Most Red Tops making 205 BHP make about 14.9.A mild boosted black top with 260WHP and 280 ft/lb.s of torque will run a 13.2, I know this because it is Dan Flowers time posted up in HP FReaks... So you will need about 285 Crank HP to pull mid 13's in the 1/4 mile.

slight 100 shot of naws dawg should do it too. Maybe 150shot. Good set of pistons should finish up the build. I did find a "spec sheet" for scca gt3 ka24e. I dont know much on the source to know if its trustworthy but here you go guys. http://www.race-cars.com/engsa...s.htm

7g's should cover it lol I bet they push about 8~9000 rpm allday without a sweat.

Lawl.... KA24DE's..... My friends 2.3 liter BMW S14 motor makes 300 rwhp, but it has quite a bit to show for it, IE, high compression, cams, carbon fiber intake manifold, header, intake, complete tec3 standalone EMS, pure alchohol for fuel.

Im going to jump on the bandwagon and say that this kid wanted to have friends.

You know how to read dyno charts right? Well see if you can read this picture and figure out what to do. Have a good one

Wow this has become more and more rediculous. I am confused slider; Why don't you just post a pic of the engine bay?You need to not be so defensive; you're claiming that you've done something that others have attempted to do (in some cases spent thousands of hours and dollars) and haven't reached. We are curious; any one would be.

Take a second and step back. You're posts as of recent have been terriably offensive, and lude. In a previous topic you said some very inappropiate things. I'm a white guy; I'm not rich as far as money goes. I'm hard working. I turn a wrench quite often, and I am still learning so much. I have no idea what square decking is. Maybe you could have tried to explain with supporting facts as to why your setup is creating such a big power boost, instead of refering to peoples short comings and calling them idiots.

I like blue collar people ALOT. I've worked alot of it in my day (I'm only 22 but I've logged 10 years worth of satellite installs... that includes microwave systems at age 14). You don't seem to come from this background, and you come off as a rich boy, who didn't do any work, and you don't know whats going on in your engine. The only reason I can think that you haven't given a pic is because either1) you didn't do anything2) you have a import supped up engine and you don't know whats on there3) you have a chevy 350 with a dropped vavle.

Either way. I think we should give you a day or two to post a pic and then this thing should be closed and forgotten. I'm also all for your account being banned and email being banned after this thread is closed; based on your conduct here and other linked posts, you've shown that you can not; in any WAY shape or FORM conduct yourself with an ounce of decensy. This is the interwebs... it was created for only three reasons:

1. Pron2. Exchange of media3. To find new and interesting ways to call each other gender bending and racial slurs.

but you have taken it to an unacceptable level.

So calm yourself. Stop being a n00b jerk, and post a pic of the engine atleast, or calmly STFUBBQGG/Uninstall~Nick

***EDIT***PS while we are at it guys; WTF is square decking? I'm quite curious. Wikipedia showed nothing on the topic, and google sent me someplace scary lols.

The new F1 cars with less power run better lap times than the old turbo ones. You sound like a MKIV supra owner who switched to a huge single turbo to see a number on a dyno instead of actual performance.

As I said, pressurizing the cylinder above normal pressure will gain you power. Throwing any old turbo onto a car isn't even guaranteed to pressurize the cylinder, however. Not to mention you've went off on something completely tangental to this.

Not any old turbo...but a gigantic range of turbo's will work on any motor. There won't be a high boost thresh hold either, lag is the wrong terminology when refering to on and off boost conditions. It is very simple to plot a compressor map and select the proper AR for the turbine section so you'll get exhaust flow and a compressor that flows enough volume to support any motors needs.

I believe the proper term that people should use for turbo lag is back pressure.

Actually no, back pressure is ahh...well back pressure. Lag is basically the same thing as boost thresh hold, but the proper term isn't lag. Lag and or boost thresh hold is the time between throttle tip in rpm and positive pressure built at the intake manifold.

Moldyoldy240 If you had read the first of this thread you would see were I did explain what square decking is. I also was going to put pics up but after all these little kids got mad because I would not explain certain specifics of the motor we built I decided not to. So you can join there bandwagon if you wish and complain all you want or not it doesnt bother me one bit. Please people keep this going, this is hilarious

I'll bet Mike Lee and Mike Kojima would LOVE to see this nonsense.

I'm not reading the whole thread, but in ALL the years the 240sx Car Club of America (240sx.org) has been in existence (since 1994), I don't think anyone has even surpassed 200whp with an all-motor KA.

OK, I've read the thread, and I want my 15 minutes back.

Slider, it's very simple: You're full of $hit.

You keep saying "we" like you're in a race shop or something, but you're not. If you were, you'd have it in your profile.

You called other members "stupid" who have DOCUMENTED hp gains and were building Nissan engines when you were just a stain on the bedsheets.

You've continually posted "engine building 101" modifications, ALL of which I've had done to MY KA, and yet it was nowhere near 200+ whp (before boost).

You running a crank scraper? Windage tray? What kind of oil pump does that monster use?

Face it kid, you came to the WRONG forum to BS people with your "UTI-level" knowledge of engines.

Banned.

KA moderators, feel free to copy the worthwhile info in this thread into another, or keep chattting F1 or NA mods...

bout time az :roll

But I think we had him ran off already. oh well.

I just knew someone else had done all the **** he said and got way less power. Glad we have actual people who have a clue.

To all the folks that helped me lift that giant BS flag and the ones who raised thier own. I commend you all. To all the newbs that read the first few posts and think you can build 300chp with bolt ons, have fun and dont tell nico.

Now back to F1 I am confused to which team I will back, I am a kimi fan,but always routed for shumi too.(ferrari) But now that alonso has a team to back him I think he will be a front runner more. I think kimi will have some adjustment to make to drive the pony car but he is cool when the heat is on. We'll have to see.Anyone else

No, this is not a trivial task. Especially when your requirements are at absurd power levels and high RPMs. Then your turbo has to be big enough so as to not be a restriction at the CFM levels required for >1000hp, which completely screws the powerband and causes increased lag and spool time. It is not "very simple" at that level. The safety issues with the turbo gen of F1 cars arose from this fact.

It's "very simple" to select a turbo that will give a good powerband, but then you aren't making >1000 hp from 1.5L; you've got an 80-hp K car.

alonso will be a front runner more? hes won the past 2 championships and has won more races than anyone over those two years

i think kimi will put up more of a fight, and itll be interesting to see how alonso does in the mclaren...definately a big shake up for this coming season

Now you're mixing an F1 conversation with the turbo conversation, which I'm ok with. Here's the deal, I said you can add forced induction to any motor and make more power and that's fact period man, indisputable. No need to even talk about it anymore, you're wrong.

This whole matching a turbo to make 1000hp is retarded. What motor is it going on? What are the RPM requirements for the motor...give me a small handful of details and I'll pick you out a turbo right now. What is lag on a big block? What is lag on a motor that spins to 18,000 rpm?

I made my point and simply can't be proven wrong. But its not like I thought it all up, it's just something that happens to be true, like the 2+2 thing.

nismofly**** that was 730am I could have said almost anything. Really tho,I mean as far as a team behind him, last few times I watched he was getting the f stick from the boss. Hes a fantastic driver and I think after he tests he will own. Then about mid season kimi will be right behind, with,or just ahead.
