Just a basic idea to start with. The T-Zero uses a similar battery bank and gets 80-100 miles per charge. You could prob use the AC-150 powertrain ~$25k from the T-Zero also and still keep it under $40k. I just think it would be a cool idea play around with.

I think the volt wins over the leaf for practicality, looks and features. The leaf would be perfect for someone like my parents who live in the city.

Also note there are a lot of tax breaks for charging systems and things like that. So it's almost safe to consider things like that a wash.

I think I'd rather get a bunch of golf cart batteries and an electric motor and convert my Q

I'm curious about a couple of weird marketing decisions Nissan made with the Leaf.

Nissan emailed me an invitation to sign up for a 3 minute parking lot Leaf testdrive at a Nissan dealer 50 miles away (100 round trip).WTF! Besides there being 5 Nissan dealers closer to my home, If I owned a Leaf, that location would almost be too far to drive to/from via a Leaf. And Nissan's wondering why people are not flocking to them?

Adam Corolla read my mind when he asked on the car show (I'm paraphrasing) why did Nissan name a car after something frail that withers and dies quickly?

LOL, I suppose at $36,050 many people are going to LEAF them alone. ;)

Next up, an electric van known as the Nissan "Bud".

With solid rubber tires that do not require valves for inflation.

The autoblog headline could be "New Nissan Bud cedes stems."
