I have the 298HP Rev up motor. And i have electric fans..

I think the 05-06 all have electric fans. I would also put my money on the 6mt's having electric fans regardles of fans.

I don't know much about G sedans, but I thought (at least 03-04) only had 260hp vs the coupes 280...

I think the body style and height attributed to that one. Removing the G35 from the rear and dropping it an inch or so makes a world of difference.

I think it'll be close if the 350 is auto also, but if its 6mt, I'd have to go with the Z

I was under the impression that the auto's were as fast as the MT6's. Am I crazy?

I have an '03 6MT and mine fan is electric. I have seen the VQ35DE engine scale and I see the mechanical fan, but have yet to see a one in real life...

The hella expensive aero package that's an option on the G Sedan... does anyone think this makes any difference in acceleration/performance? I know according to Infiniti/Nissan, it's supposed to reduce drag by .01%, which is hardly nothing.

It think it reduces the coefficient of drag by .01, which MAY be different than an actual percentage reduction.

Correction ....03 sedan has 260hp with 260 tq• Power: SAE and 194 kW , 260 HP @ 6,000 rpm; 260 ft lb , 353 Nm @ 4,800 rpmand with his mods i would be putting down money on the 350ZIts way lighter then G35

All right, time for some side by side stats

My G 350zCurb wt. (stock) 3369 3247HP (stock) 260 287Torque 260 2741/4 mile (edmonds) 14.7 (Auto) 14.59 (mt6)

I am guessing the sedan is so close because of it's super light factory rims and small tires. I notice a big drop in acceleration when I run my coupe rims (18's and same tires as stock 350z). I would run my factory rims if we race.

HP + modsMy G:Coupe mid pipe (also -20 lbs), stillen intake & z tube, Plenum spacer, electric fan, under drive pulleys, grounding kit. Modest HP increase of 40+

350z: bone stock...

Also, how hard is it to get a perfect launch with a stick? I am guessing that most people can't get close to a pro launch consistently. Auto launches the same, time and time again.

Its been proven time and time again especially with the 6MT 04 sedans, those 260/260 numbers are BS. Hell with just a pop charger I put down 233whp. 20% drive train loss, you do the math.

My guess would be that the Sedans are underrated to push the coupe more.

RED, with the 6MT you have the electric fan right?

And, the only other difference was the Z tube and curb weight(Z is shorter) from stock.

I'd say that it should be a drivers race, as most are. I bet you take him in your G.

Yah- that seems about right.

Aside from that, I HATE how I can't drive down a street without someone trying to show me up/cut in front of me, et cetera. I don't necessarily think it's because they're trying to show me up because it's a sexy G35 (I hope), but because no matter what type of car you're driving/who it is, their inner-masculinity is raging. Sorry, lately it's been driving me nuts! Especially living in Southern California.

I hate to admit this, but I actually miss all of the ricers and not so ricers challenging me at stop lights. I also live in SoCal and I don't get much of that anymore.

Only recent "fun" I've had was an M5 who must have not known how to drive, because he never pulled on me driving the 15 South to San Diego.

Must be the price of gas and all of the SMOG shops that won't pass "illegal" mods. I rarely see ricers around me anymore. A few STIs and EVOs, but the civics, teggies, neons...etc are few and far between.
