Maybe my motor will be less controversial. K&N cold air intake, Nismo Cat-back exhaust and Mobile 1. 320hp. I like the tuner look so my Z is more show than go.

Yeah... did you pull the engine and put it on an engine dyno?

How much torque does it have?

I'm not a fan of the carbon fiber engine cover, but everything else looks pretty good.

even if the engine was on a dyno theres no way in hell they made 320hp from and intake exhaust and motor oil lets do the math vq35de crank hp 287 hp(estimated) k+n intake +10 hp(estimated) nismo catback +6hp ________ 303hp ur still missing another 17 hp and we all know you wont gain 10hp from an intake. i even listed the sites so you can see for yourself

The 320 was an estimate. The exhaust was based on 5th gear dyno runs to add 16 HP at 5600 rpm and 14 Ft/Lbs at 4600 rpm. (Stillen site) The intake was based on 10.67 hp @5500rpm. (K&N site) The oil was estimated at 8 hp. (http://my.prostreetonline.com/t2540.htm) I admit the oil results seemed high to me. The test car was a 350z. Maybe I read the results incorrectly. The actual total is 321.67 starting at a 287 base. I also realize that the manufacturers are liberal with their test results. The true horsepower is not worth the cost of the dyno to me. You tell me it is 105 hp and that is fine by me. Show not go.

how does the nismo exhaust sound?? I'm stuck between Nismo, Stillen, and the Greddy dual ti-c....

The exhaust is my favorite modification. I can only comment on the nismo. Good sound + Good quality........priceless. The other brands you mentioned are top quality names and I would assume they are equal to or better than the nismo exhaust. You will not be sorry either way you go.

I think Richie just showed us how to do ricer math. OP, when you install mods, you can't simply add the numbers from the box and add that to your stock hp like Richie just did. Different modifications have different effects when combined with other mods. The only accurate way of doing it is through a dyno (wheel hp, or crank hp if you want to pull your engine out).

LIl G, try a grounding kit if you want to do a bit more of modest work. A member sells his own version of it. Lower prices than competing brands and have a better overall performance.

(Nice strut bar by the way, you can compliment the strut bar, and engine/battery/fluids CF covers with a CF cooling plate. )

Thanks for the lead on the grounding kit. I have the cooling plate. I did not have it on when I took the picture. It interferes with the car bra. The plate only goes on at shows. Thanks again.

I guess I missed the post about the leapard seat covers...

The engine bay looks fine. The only time anyone is going to see it is when they are checking the oil, refilling the washer fluid, or any other service related act, unless you like showing it off various places or gatherings.

I like the polished intake manifold, too bad it is half covered by the CF cover, which by the way, you have a lot of CF under the hood. Are you going to paint any of the CF or are you going to leave it naked?

There is nothing wrong with naked CF, but too muchof it, and it begins to overpower and make it look like the owner is trying too hard. You could paint the engine cover to match your car's color, but leave a decent sized "Z" on it showing the CF. (just an idea).

What else on the car is CF?

You are very observant. The picture of the car is old. The motor picture is recent. I had the seat inserts and trunk redone to leopard. I show it as a "Snow Leopard Edition." The car has carbon fiber front lip, mud flaps, splash guards, B-pillars, and mirror covers. The excess carbon fiber is an evil of car shows. The theory for car shows seems to be if a little is needed, too much is just right. I do believe the move to F 4 challenge judging in my area will be a good thing. Since you noticed the interior, I will post a picture of the interior. Please make sure you are seated. Remember the theme is"Snow Leopard Edition." This will probably bring a flood of unfavorable posts. But I like it and that is all that matters to me.

Just like Luscious' Z, it's different. Not my style, but as long as you are happy with it, that is all that matters.

Good job on the mods. Don't let Richie's over reaction scare you off. He just has this condescending way of coming off...

the Nismo is pretty quiet. your list lacks the best one! HKS FTW! i love the hi-power. it's my favorite on both the Z32 and Z33. absolute best sound.

I really like the look of the HKS and the Greddy ti-c. I couldn't find any good sound clips of the hks but the greddy ones sound really good. The thing about the stillen is its overall performance and its sound. Every sound clip I find sounds pretty descent too but computer sound clips don't always capture the true sound completely.

That's because I am a Ninja.

OP: You have good power mods to say the least. However 320hp is a high estimate...it's more around 8-10 hp gain at best.

Since your car is a "show" car more than a "go" car, what you're doing isn't bad. However, I would like to throw my 2 cents into the barrel and see what you think.

You mentioned F-4 class. I have no idea what the F-4 class is, but I'm sure any car judge wants to see how you were able to pull off the mods you did and if you put some thought into them and did you do it differently from the next guy/gal. Anyone can put CF bits on their car and I'm sure they look nice, but so can everyone else. Then, all you are left with is all of these cars with CF bits and no one stands out. It is this standing out that catches the judges eye and gets you noticed as well as put points in the different judged categories.

Since you are going with the Snow Leopard theme, you need to be able to carry that theme from the front of the car all the way to the back. You need to tie the engine with passenger compartment, with the trunk. I don't see any of that in your current set up.

Again, nakes CF is nice, but they are just pieces. You need to step up and paint them, or design them differently, while leaving just enough of the CF showing so people (judges) know they are CF. Painting CF is taking a risk, but in the show scene, it's go BIG or go HOME. That's why I suggested painting the engine cover, and it would probably be a good idea to add some animal print to different pieces on the hood to tie in the whole car.

Have some leopard print airbrushed on the different pieces. Example - With the engine cover,(running front to back) have a 4-6" center stripe of leopard print boardered by two 1-2" stripes of your car's color, yet leave about 1" or so on the sides untouched. Now your engine cover ties in with the interior. Possibly repeat on other CF bits, or mix it up a bit

Here is an example from Worthersee 2006 to show you how to tie the car together to make it pop...good or bad..it will get noticed.

I hope this gives you an idea of the endless possibilities of what you can do under hood to tie your car together. I'm not saying it is easy, and I'm not saying you have to go over the top like some of those cars, but sometimes, putting a little bit of uniqueness into a project can go a long way.

Spread that Snow Leopard theme around. Don't just keep it on the inside.

lil g, love the braided radiator hose. You buy it or do it yourself? Been wanting to to mine for awhile.

I did it myself. They are fake. (braided sleeve kit) The real braided hoses were not available in my area the weekend I decided to do it. (Patience is not my strong suit) If you opt for the fake, I found it much easier to apply the braid if it was slightly bigger than the hose. The braid will give if you use slightly smaller, but it is a real pain. I also think it looks better if it is slightly bigger and not stretched. It was easy to cut. I used an ordinary pair of scissors. Getting the real hoses is on that endless list of things to do.
