THis is a thread about a VQ35DE in a 240sx, not the carb rules and regulations in California, or the rest of the country.Start a new thread if thats all you can post about and dont have anything to say about the engine swap (silviapower).-By the way, engine swaps in CA can be legal if you jump through all of the hoops and get it approved by a CARB smog referee. It is not easy, but it is possible, and there are lots of rules you have to follow.
The engine in the 350Z is not the same as the maxima, altima. Those are a FWD platform and there are differences with the engines, even though they are all VQ35's. THe FWD engines have been tuned for gas mileage and easy driveability, the 350Z has been tuned more for performance. But like I said, swap it in and use a standalone. BUt since the guy who originally posted this probably wasnt serious and isnt reading this anymore, I guess it doesnt matter what we post.
Quote »I have a 327 small block pushing 300+ hp and had a dream about putting it in my '93 240sx, And it was such a nice dream too! Then I woke up. I hope to have that dream again soon, maybe it will turn into reality. LMAO!![/quote]
SR20's can make over 300 HP all day long....and they are easier to swap than an ancient boat anchor 327....
