Quote »Now, time for some freeway fun eh? If I recall, my 240 didnt do too well above 150-ish...starts moving around a bit![/quote]haha, that it does! I took mine to 145 racing an LS1 camaro and my god... I swear I saw god in front of me holding some coilovers with a pissed off look on his face...lol I need to find someone in a C5 that is willing to go from a roll....

No way I will get 11s on this setup...

Rick could take his car that fast because he has taller wheels/tires. And he revs his car out to 8k.

Do you have a stock clutch. I have a new clutch but it's not OEM - bought the car that way.

Anyway, I'm wondering what it is good for.

BTW, check out the article I posted "You can be too rich." I found it on Inovative's web site. Anyway, it claims that retarding timing is a better way to prevent detonation than making fuel richer. Could explain why you got such good power with that leaner mix.

ITS NOT LEANER!! It is 10.8:1-11.2:1 until 5k where I lean it out to 11.7:1. Most would call that a "wuss" tune. Its overly conservative I know, but as far as I'm concerned, I murdered my goal, so I'm content with the setup. Its relaible and fun.

Nope. I'm running a ACT Heavy duty pressure plate w/organic disk...

ya that is rich............but better to b safe than sorry? eh, maybe u'll go to 11.5 when u get bored of 326 whp lol. i would be extremely scared going 140 mph at stock height.............probably feels like ur not even on the ground anymore.

I never went past 90 on my last S14. After hearing all this about the high speed instability though, I'm considering running a front splitter/undertray and a rear wing for track days. As ricey as they look, a well designed wing can really add a lot of downforce. Too bad the good ones are incredibly expensive and I don't know crap about fluid flow so I can't really design my own.

Regarding the dyno, nice work. That's great power for 12 psi on a medium sized turbo, and as long as your timing is okay it should be reliable.

i kept hitting the beautiful 112 mark at the end of the track that time i met ya up there cory.............needless to say stock brakes dont brake well from that speed lol. governor or the fuel cut or whatever it is that occurs at that speed is a horrible feeling lol

i have done 120 on my stock susp. brake setup before. It's not that scary as long as you have a long straight road ahead of you.

I took mine up to cut off. Felt like it was floating - we defenitly need some aerodynamic measures for these cars.

Innovative also says that MAX power is acheived at an A/F ratio 10%-15% richer than stoich...

thats weird, I used to take my s13 to the cutoff all the time, felt like it was glued to the road... stock suspension, 300zx brakes, some splash guards removed, and 1986 pontiac firebird spoiler (dont knock it, knightrider is the balls)

No, they just need a good suspension/tire combo.

yeah i used to take my car up above 100mph and with the stock suspension it used to feel like you were swimming the way the car bobbed until i hit that brick wall known as the fuel cut off. now with my agx and pro kits its a smooth ride into that "brick wall"

I have the same setup. Perhaps it's the tires.

Or perhaps I'm compairing it to being in my buddies Vette doing 164 and feeling like we were on a steel rail.

yea my car is just fine at speeds above 100mph, the bfg drag radials i drive around on float a little bit more than the nitto drags i used to drive on. the sideways are alot softer and i drive around on 15psi of tire pressure yet its still pretty solid at 100+mph i guess to the car squating

I am with Structure I have done numerous freeway runs with Cobra's, Vettes, Supra's, and bikes, (I don't condone or endorse any of it), and my car has always felt really stable until the end of 4th gear (142mph with my gearing). Just like Anthony the BFG's float a tiny bit more than stiffer tires but not enough that I had to correct my driving habits.

I would love to have datalogging... Its hard to see where exactly I need to make adjustments when I'm WOT in 4th gear.lol If only my downpipe hadn't been all jacked up at the dyno, I woudl have a good reading...

Back when I was pusing prolly 240whp, it worked very good. Easy to see a lean or rich spot real quick and look up quickly...

the 500 has the logging crap. but it also has dyno, egt, shift/warning light, and i think a g meter also. it costs like 550-600. the latter being if u get it with the egt probe. so do u guys think this is a good buy? i'm not going to be running a crazy set up but i do want to be as safe as possible. i was thinking this would help me do that. my goal is also to be around 300hp w/stock internals. any info or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I say if you have the money to spare, buy it. But there are better things to get with the extra $300.

agreed, if u want all that stuff, then go and get the r-500 but IMO, u only need a wideband that is accurate and that can datalog. the other bells and whistles are fun but i also feel that extra money could go to other things.

i ended up going with the zeitronix btw. the plx was in my head at first but the datalogging and sample rate was what made me go with the zeitronix.

My s14 is pretty stable up to the damn speed cut I'd like to see how she feels around 150 but Ive decided to leave it in, if im not winning the race by 120 its not worth killing myself over it.

oh and +1 for zeitronix, dataloging is a must and those are some sweet numbers for your setup.

the new plx r-300 will datalog. more info on zeitronix wideband.......... http://www.zeitronix.com

as for the lm-1, i personally used that wideband to tune my car when i first went ka-t. its the best wideband for portability. when i say portability, like being able to transfer it from one car to another. the box for it is huge. power source is the cigarette lighter so all u do is screw in the sensor and plug it in the cigarette lighter. my quirms with it was its accuracy. i could never get it to read out some right numbers for my car. this is even at idle. it may have just been the sensor was f'd or maybe it didn't like my car but thats y i didn't go with it. not to mention, its sample rate is slower than the zeitronix. hope this helps.
