Ok im getting different feedback here, will the z32 30mm calipers clear the 16" se rims? I figure yes, because the 300zx also has the 16" rims. Am i correct?

Yes, the s14 16" rims will clear the calipers, apparently the 300zx ones don't

I can get you calipers

All calipers are like new (rebuilt)

30mm iron (no pins, pads, etc. just the caliper) - $140 a piece

30mm iron (complete with everything you need) - $185 a piece

I know that it may sound expensive, but all those used calipers on ebay, dont gurantee anything. These are all rebuolt and in 100% working condition.

Or you can just go to autozone and get a set of rebuilt, loaded calipers for $70 a piece.

$70 is just for the caliper, + core charge. By now theyre on to people who put the small calipers instead of the big ones. At least in my area.

Put the small instad of the big? I'm confused....

185/each for everything? What else would I need after that? rotors? What's the price on those? Lines?

30mm rotors about $50-$135 on ebay for both front rotors. Depending what kind of a rotor.

Conversion Brake Lines - $85 (earl's from Phase 2 motorsp. )

Z32 Brake master cylender - $25-50 ebay, junk yard, aftermarket, anywhere on the internet carparts.com

If just doing the front brakes, you don't need the MC, but it would give better pedal feel. You also don't NEED the conversion brake lines. I did mine by trimming down the banjo bolt to fit because I was crunched for time, but I have left it that way as it has no ill effects.

Putting the small rotors instead of the big refers to passing off your stock callipers for the core charge.

Seems like it would be smart to but the calipers, then try to take the little ones back, if they don't let you go to a different autozone or whatever, they're all connected right? Like you can take the core back at any store? I can make a day out of it and go to every one in So. Cal till one lets me ;)

core charge is $40 for me, i dont know everyone has it diff, id say anywhere from 35-65.

As for the master cyl. if you going to do it, then do it right!!! Thats the way I look at it.

Same goes for the brake lines. If you going to do it, do you it right. ;)

40 Each.. not bad.. Now i've just gotta decide if it's more important to go fast or be able to stop when I got fast. Sounds like it'll cost about 500 total.

yea 500 sounds about right.

I dont know when i go drag racing, if i do more then 3 races at once, brakes get really hot and they stop working, so for me braking is very important at this time.

Slowing down from 130mph the other day was a hassle. I'd like it to not be.. how much better are they?

stock 240sx brakes suck, PLAIN & SIMPLE. I drove a 240sx with z32 brakes, its an amazing different. It almost feels like you have a sports car and your braking in it. Amazing brake power.

$500 my a**. That's is you look around on forums and buy calipers for $250. You can get the calipers from autozone for like $80. Brembo replacement rotors for $22 a piece off Nopi.com( I know it's a ricer site, but they have damn good prices.) And lines will run you another $40. I'm failing to see what is so expensive about this.

Ok here's the deal. You can go to autozone and buy the rebuilt ones for $51 eachThey aren't loaded though,it's only the caliper w/ new seals. You can buy the loaded pair for like $96,but I tried last week and they were out of stock in my area w/ no estimate on when they would get them in. So I bought the empty set for $102.Then you can get the conversion lines at splparts.com for $44 shipped, very good deal and very nice products. Then you have many choices on rotors.I bought a pair of black zinc coated 26mm drilled and slotted for $139.If I would have known that nopi had the stocks for $22 I'd have just bought them to save $100. I then bought all new hardware from courtsey nissan.I bought new pins, clips, springs, and shims total of $80.So a total of $366 for basically a brand new set-up,plus you have to buy the pads still. If anyone wants the a pair from autozone I have a buddy who will swap yours stocks for the z32's for $150.You have to pay shipping though.

So u spent about $400. My loaded calipers were $250 for both, $85 for earl lines, $80 for both frony cross/sloted drilled rotors, and $30 Master Cyl. All together $450. And like I said before if you can do the whole swap under $300, you can do this for a living and ull be making incredible amount of money untill everyone and their mothers have this swap on their 240s. And if your friend provides everything for $150, I really want about 10 of them. Give me his email address if ur serious.

if you wanna be patient you can get everything from ebay, for about $300 or so.

Sometimes they sell calipers with rotors for about $200, all u need is brake lines about $60-80. And Matser cyl is optional.

Try autozone, if it doesnt work, try another one, until you find a dumbass that works there who doesnt know anything about cars. I would do the same thing. But

1) i dont have anywhere to leave my car while i take my calipers out.

2) no time

I mean most of the time if you speak to someone in autozone or strauss auto, It the same as theyre talking to talk to you like you know nothing about cars at all and their trying to tell you what you need, but really "dont" and how the K&N replacement filter gives you 30hp just by chnaging the paper filter to the K&N. And you answer back like "wtf are you talking about" And they try really hard to back themselfs up, like saying yea i did to my car and its now 2 seconds faster in a 1/4 mile, at which point you just give up and say "right" . But you get my point.

P.S. Bored at work! :)

He will do the pair for $150.AS soon as I get your calipers and money I can order the pair, you have to prepay for them. When they come in I get them, swap the core and then I can ship them too you within a day.Your best choice for shipping is to get the aluminum ones from a 90 model, they only weigh 6lbs. each.So the package would weigh like 13lbs.If you want the iron ones, then the package will weigh like 40lbs.cost lot most to ship them.
