Yeah thats the cheapest way.Just watch out on your receipt, mine says 4piston units on the receipt. If the chevy lover at autozone has half a brain,he might think something is fishy.Another thing you can do is buy them at one autozone, and return the cores like a week later at a different one.240SXer wrote:I'm gonna try locally first. Because it sounds like I can probably get away with it. There aren't too many 240s here (only like 3 are owned by people who would care).
here are a few pages telling the differencehttp://www.princeton.edu/~asad/zbrakes/Nissan-S14 wrote:By the way what is the difference between aluminum and iron? Besides the weight...obveously.
phatpat240 wrote:Well supposedly the aluminum ones can warp under very hard braking,I realy don't think they would unless you were doing 200-0mph braking like 500 times in a row.Not that anyone of people on the board have engines to propel the car to that speed. And if they could go that fast, then you would need this 8piston kit http://www.iceperformance.com/240sxBrakes.htmland not the simple z32 brakes
Why white? Mine look white in the photo, but it's just a bad angle.Mine are silver in color.I just took masking tape and cut out the letters.I then sprayed the caliper w/ the black several coats. Then I just took off the tape,And shot several coats of clear over the whole caliper. If you wanted to paint the nissan letters white,it would be a bit more work. You could paint the letters white before you paint the caliper, then tape off the letters.Paint the caliper, then take the tape off and spray the whole caliper in the clear. Plus the white letters would show dirt alot sooner than silver lettersNissan-S14 wrote:how do i paint the the "nissan" in white on the calipers??????
phatpat240 wrote:Well it depends on which ones you want.I got the 26mm aluminum ones. They are alittle thinner, for less chance of a wheel fitament issues.I say go with aluminum either way. check out this website again to see which one you want. http://www.princeton.edu/~asad/zbrakes/
Just go to autozone and tell them you want either a 90 or 91 set of calipers. If you want to buy mine,I'll sell them for $150 plus shippng.I just painted them a super shiny black. Remember if you buy the unloaded apir from autozone, then your gonna spend another $80 for all the hardware.
Ok you have the wrong number I think. The loaded pair should only be $94 plus like a $90 core.If you buy the loaded ones, they should be ready to bolt up,should already have the pins, clips ,and springs. If you buy unloaded ones, you will have to buy the hardware kit from the dealer $80.It inlcudes pins, clips, springs, and the shim kit240SXer wrote:Okay, i'll need loaded calipers, rotors, lines, and what else?
What are shims? Will the calipers include the pins? I want to buy everything before I start (don't want downtime). I want to make sure i've got EVERYTHING before I start.

This is for a 92 turbo,it should be 30mm aluminum.MORSE P1399 LLT $23.00 $138.99thats for a loaded pair. You shouldn't worry about the 30mm or 26mm,you will never know the difference. They are also about $45 more than the 26mm ones240SXer wrote:I want 30mm... Can you get me the info for that one? 30mm aluminum or iron, I don't care..
You shouldn't have any problem finding 26mm rotors. And they should always be the same price if not cheaper.I mean you can get a pair for $44 @nopi.com The ones I have aren't loaded. You have a plus and a minus on the loaded ones.Plus-you don't have to buy the hardware or pads.Minus- the hardware is probably the same from the original car(lots of miles) plus no pads, but most everyone replaces the pads with hi performance ones. Either way you go,you'll have less than $400 in a high peroformance set of brakes. Let me know if your interested in mine.I sent you a few pics240SXer wrote:I'm also worried about buying rotors in the future. I see more 30mm for sale for better prices? Or am I wrong? The ones you are selling, are they loaded? What else would I need?
