I thought for sure someone would recognize what I posted, other than "it was orange." Or am I the only one who finds it flattering? That's a Parnelli Jones Saleen Boss 302, sucka. Watts linkage, 390+hp N/A stroked out 281 to a 302, we're talking some f***ing muscle.

Agreed. On a side note about camaros, I heard they may be switching to a smaller platform in a couple years rather that just reusing the Australian/Holden platform. It's as if America finally wants to make good cars again, I would say this could be a serious contender against the Z with the same price and about 80 more horsepower.

I just drove one of the new Mustang verts in Florida for a week. I liked it a lot. I hate mustangs, but I actually liked this one. I had the v-6 model, but it was plenty for cruising. Fit and finish seemed pretty good. I wouldn't mind owning one.

I'd still rather have the Camaro, as it is superior in the Chassis department (in my eyes, the Camaro is now a sports car, where the Mustang is still a pony car). But I definitely wouldn't mind having a Mustang to park next to it.
I dunno about that. The Camaro is rather bulky, even by todays standards. It gets by and may indeed have a better chassis, but the Ford outperforms it in the handling department. The July 09 issue of C/D has a comparison of the two and this was a major talking point of the article.

The recent R&T issue also features a ZR-1 powered Camaro built by Hennessey. It got a dose more power over a ZR-1, but despite some hardware upgrades to the suspension, it only marginally beats out the Mustang GT's numbers (handling). Very significant improvement over the stock Camaro though.

As I said, this doesn't necessarily speak to the chassis quality, but from the context of being sporty, I can hardly justify all the mass of the Camaro's design. Its a rather large car. Which to me, doesn't really imply sporty.

Ford finally made it a muscle car again! YAY!

That red one Ditto posted was the WORST model IMO Just down right hideous. I hated when they tried to make the mustang a "tuner" car...

As for the 30mpg claim, I'll believe it when I see it. Ford also claims the Ecoboost gets 25mpg and that's a straight crock of crap.
gearing gear gearing.

hell, a Panther Vic will get about 27 on the highway.

I wouldn't consider the new Camaro a sports car either...it's more of a bloated overstylized mess to me.

Man how are you guys gonna talk s*** on that Cobra R! It looks that way because its kind of necessary. The bulge in the hood is there just so the intake manifold will fit under it. The holes up front for brake cooling ducts. And since 70mph is a brisk walk for that car, the front lip and rear spoiler prob get plenty of use. That stuff isnt there just to make it look faster like most "tuners." And if you think thats the ugliest mustang, you must have forgotten about the 80's haha.

The Genesis coupe most definitely does NOT look better than the Mustang. The Genny coupe is FUGLY.

I find it hard to be impressed by the Genesis when the Mustang and Camaro offer so much more for the same price. Let's break it down:

Base:Genesis 22k - 210hpMustang 22k - 315hpCamaro 22k - 304hp

"hot"Genesis 25-30k - 305hpMustang 28-33k - 400hpCamaro 30-33k - 425hp

If we're talking highway only, I believe the Mustang's 30mpg claim. Combined will still only be 20-22, though.

Personally I think the Mustang is good looking car, but that's always a personal opinion.

I actually went on Ford's website built a Mustang GT Premium and matched as many options as my Genesis has and I hit $38k. I got mine with a set of snow tires for $25k out the door.

The V6 Gen is really more of a match for the Mustang V6 honestly.
