a stock 300zx TT would surely take a J30 whether it was a 5 speed or automatic...

now a stock 300zx NA auto against a J30...i think the Z would win because the Z has better gearing(4.08 oppsed to 3.91)and the Z is slightly lighter

obviously a stock 300zx NA stick would take a J also

overall Z is more favored on paper but then again it does determine on the driver

The 300zx is lighter than a J30. The the J is one heavy car.

The 5 speed would def be faster with the lower final drive AND 5 speeds so he probably wasn't shifting at redline.

Same engine + lighter car = faster than the J.

But lets not kid ourselves. Who here owns a J cause they want to be a race car driver.

My vote is for the Z. But KB is right...9 times out of 10, it's about the skills of the driver. They don't teach people that in The Fast & The Furious.

But I do. Even though I don't have a J yet.

See down here in Mobile, we mostly have riced Civics, 'Tegs, etc. If not that, it's the Z-71s jacked up 4 ft high on mud tires or a Ford Crown Vic with 28" spinners & a lousy sound system & TV's everywhere. J's are a rarity, let alone a modified one.

Pfft!!!! Do you mean by bump shifting it (manually shifting the auto trans) of by letting is shift on its own? I do both.

There is nothing to gain by shifting the J that way.

What I mostly meant was that calling it 'a driver's race' when you're in an automatic is ridiculous. Like "Oh shyt i gotz da peddle to tha floor fastah den joo, bioootch!!"

It's as ridiculous as racing the J. I've said it before and I'll say it again: The J is closer to a Buick Regal than anything you would want to race around it.

Oh wait...you could get a supercharged Regal...

Even the Z32 was meant to be a GT car. Grand Touring. The J is a grandma car. The J is not ballin, it's not really fast, it's not light, not 'VIP', not a sports anything.

If done right, you might be able to pull in a girl or 2. Just remember...the J has a small backseat.

That's why there is a sun roof.

I don't mean girls will ride on the roof, For Naladude911 and others who might not understand.

I have to admit they don't look like RICE RACERS But I won't admit that they are nice, Because what kind of a Nissan lover would I be if I said that Honda's are nice?

Like the flats ville girl though... NOT, Get a girl with some boobs next time.

Good Luck.
