Yeah the VQ25, seems to be an easier and more popular swap... and the price is more appealing.

Ebay... about 1800.00tigerengines... was about 3200.00 plus 500.00 for shipping and insurance...

Those are where I've looked the most, but there are alot of places with all sorts of price ranges.

I may do more research and see what I can do step by step with the present engine... transmission is the issue and the rear differential at this point... ( the rear differential under some acceleration starts shaking, its not the wheels, I'm preparing to redo the rear to polys and new calipers, struts, I may replace the differential with a rebuilt one when I do the rest, might as well while its apart.) it seems that noone really thinks the RBs or VHs are the way to go. I still like the L28 idea... I'd like the S30 to go with it. But as you've pointed out they are all but a few rusted away... such a shame, i'd love like a '74, body style anyways. I going to try to locate some L28s and price them and and then price some NISMO parts for VG30 and way the power versus price and you claim the Ls are strong engines, so that's a huge positive to me, I'm really hard on the engines I use, the whole car really. So Its important when I replace parts, or modify to make it withstand what its going to go through. Thanks for your input evil, you too AZ.

I meant to buy a "Q" as in Q45, you can get running Q45's for $1000, as opposed to buying a VH45 for nearly as much, I'm no real fan of the VH engines, I hae a bud doing the S13 VH swap and it's more work than ti's worth and the engine is a PITA to work on, and there si no bolt on manual trans for it, so most people make poor adapter plates without measuring runout and put the bearings in a bind and ruin the main bearings within a few months of completing the swap

the VH is far better served int he Q than as a swap

the VQ engines are great motors but the stock injection system sucks due to all the security crap, so it's either a wiring nightmare or it needs a stand alone to run it and it costs abotu a s mush at the RB, if you want t VQ go get a Z33, you cna have a complete running car for around $10000, or for 1/3'rd you get just the gineing trans etc

don't spend a ton fo money trying to make a car into somethgin it's not, it's far easier and cheaper to start with a car thats closer to your end goal

After all I've looked at and the advise from you and others, I have decided to go with a lower mileage VG30ETT and the stronger 5 speed trans and a NISMO MZ LSD, after enjoying that for awhile. I think I'm going to have NISMO cams and crank put in and all the gaskets replaced. I also found a place, need to check email to get the companies name but, they redo the intake manifold, eliminating the egr, (some other Cali emmisions I haven't been able to remove without a different ECCS and ECU) and well just simplifying the intake. Air, throttle, boost. Lot less vacuums too. I really need, or would like to drive a VG30ETT, to see if I'm getting up to what I want.

Oh the newer engine is out of a '90, $1500, 5spd $650,00, Nismo MZ LSD, new $1276.00... $3426.00. Not bad. I was willing to spend up to $8000.00 on my build. But I still have the rear to upgrade and wheels and more tires. I should be getting a discount on as many tires I buy.

That picture is awesome. You don't happen to have a really high-res version of it do you, or perhaps the source?

Oh, there were more universal parts than that. Wheels not just studs and stems, tension rod bearings. And I can't find it now but there was cams and cranks. Push rods, etc. And why do you care? You aren't planning on redoing your Zs are you? Everything is always black and white with you. I bet your so stressed out or irritated. Do you really want me starting another absurd topic? Has ever occured to you how much I might be f***ing with you?

I assure you there are no pushrods for the Z31

nissan motorsports sells mroe parts for the Z31 than nismo, nismo caters to newer cars
