ok i did my whole swap of bmc, brake booster, and all 4 brakes from a 300zx...

unfortunately, the brake booster was having some problems b/c once my car warmed up, the brakes would engage by themselves and seem like they were locking up. So i had to put in my s13 brake booster. When the booster worked, man did it work. It felt amazing and switching back to my s13 booster really sucks.

So i think that w/ 300zx brakes it should me RECOMMENDED that you swap over to a 300zx brake master cylinder and a 300zx brake booster.

Addisonblck, how has the car been since? any problems with your brakes after the install?

Also a general question, were all the 300zx's equiped with the same brake booster? I believe they are all the same in z32's but I want to be sure. Oh, does anyone have a good working 300zx brake booster, kinda want/need one.

THANKS NICO!!!!

hey man. i didnt have any problems with it locking; granted they were noticeably touchy afterwards but nothing too serious. i replaced all the fluid and bled the hell out of the brakes and it was tip top. but i think maybe the 300zx with the turbos would have a bigger b/b dont quote me just seems like a thing nissan would do. but def swap it out if your gonna put z brakes on your car. what i understand is that your brakes feel really spongy if you dont and in my op thats no good so...

They are the same brakes...Nothing significantly different, but the designated model of car. I have them both, so stop gloating for nothing. The fact is, you prob paid more because of the GTR name. So the op should be....

Either way, good write-up..But no pics.....damnit, I like HOT chicks too. Also Im running GTR calipers, with s14 stock master, and 5 speed booster. Still stops great i.m.o.

Its prob because you erased them from photobucket...If you want them to host them, you need to keep them on the site.

I bleed my whole system a million times and went through a lot of brake fluid.

But the turbo Brake Boosters and the n/a boosters are the same. Throughout the z32 300zx's they all had 4 piston calipers up front, and 2 piston calipers in the rear. The only thing that changed was the 2mm bigger brakes later down the road (ie the 28mm and 30mm calipers). So the bmc and booster were always pushing the same amount of pistons therefore there is not really a need to upgrade the booster.

Also, my buddy works at a Nissan dealership and he was talking to a long working tech who once owned a 300zx booster. The tech said that the boosters on Nissans back then sucked and the 300zx boosters had a recall or 2 on them back in the day. So its a common problem with the boosters. Unfortunately, i got stuck with suck a problem
