i have an 84' 300zx and if your Q is in good shape I'd just hold on to it. The ZX is a great car, I love my 84', hell I still have it from brand new, but it took MONEY and LOVE to keep it that way.

You can find Z31's practially for free, I wouldn't trade for an 85 straight over.

Z31 is a giveaway these days. I wouldnt even trade an abused 90-93 Q45 for it. That Z is worth about two grand at best. I've seen clean examples for $1500-$1800.

Seriously, go test drive a Miata.
