Yo wooooooooooooooooooooooooowww

My friend has an SS and we raced from a dig. I was impressed but it was dead even after he hit third and he had a "Launch Control" off the start toooo.( He called me and said i think you were pulling but it was close)I thought for sure he was gunna pull just like the srt4 in third.

We stopped at like 85 for obvious reasons one being cuz i wasn't on a track.and im not a fan street racing but duty calls lol

Maybe the result would vary on the track or at higher speeds

BUT MOTHER EFF IM PROUD OF HEIDI I <3 MY NISSAN

when i used to race my friend's SRT4 i'd take him till about 110 and then he'd smoke my a** but 110 is already fast enough. i want to race a SS turbo because from the numbers ive seen its supposed to be a close one with the altima coupe just barely pulling ahead (a drivers race). my friend text messaged me today that his friend is going stage 2 in his SS supercharged cobalt and we should be a good race. i beat either a stage 2 or stage 3 (forgot which it was) at the track by .1 secs...... but for the win

Nice...reminds me of this past weekend. My wife and I were on our way to the mall and I noticed a civic with an extremely loud fart can revving behind me at the light. When the light turn green I made left then a quick right onto the on ramp. Since I was going slow through he turns he was right behind me until I gunned it and pulled away from him very quickly. You can hear his loud obnoxious exhaust screaming away trying to catch up. Now by this time I'm way a head of him and doing like a 100 when my wife said "honey, maybe you should slow down" which I did and pulled into the right lane. About 5 seconds later, dumba$$ screams by me looking at me smiling like he's passing / beating me. My wife and I couldn't help but laugh. What an idiot.

Yea. That was me... Oh, I have a "Launch Control" & I used it. Basically as soon as I hit third that's almost 80 mph so, in my car, we only ran using basically 1st & 2nd.

But I was amazed at how quick these cars are.

They are like this:

Did you pre-burn your tires?

I've never driven the CVT before, but do you have to ease into the gas and gradually throttle it all the way or from a dig do you just slam it down (plus or minus TCS). Not sure.. enlighten me

J Pizzle, never have I ever seen someone come onto the forum after losing a race and admit to it... cudos for being a good sport my dude!

There was an unhappy Altima coupe 2.5 owner on here that traded in his A/C for a 2009 Altima, and was bragging about how much better the cobalt was... and for the price, he may be right... this is the first head to head run of an 09 cobalt and A/C I've heard of..

you guys should head to the track and get some official times...

Lol! It's ok.

The 08-09 Cobalts (the turbocharged ones) come standard with a 'Launch Control'. You push a button on the dash to enable 'Competitive Mode' & that also activates the Launch Control feature.

1.) You must be stopped.2.) You must push in the clutch.3.) You must floor the accelerator pedal.4.) The car holds the revs about 4900-5100.5.) You release the clutch like normal, and it "launches"

Basically Launch Control is designed not only to work as a two-step (hold revs at ~5100) but apply a selective traction control algorithm during launch.

Let me know if you guys need any more explaining.

Ya man. I have no problem admitting what exactly happened. I REALLY underestimated your guy's cars... They are pretty quick to keep up with mine. I'm not going to lie.

I will be going to the track end of next month, so hopefully Tyler (NISMOT) can join me.

Nice car by the way too. It's pretty badass!!!!

i've raced one but we where already going about 40mph. Took him in third but then he just started pulling on me. he beat me by about 3 car lengths going about 140mphs. i think i would of definetly had him if we werent moving already. Hawaii doesnt have many straight aways or tracks, so cant call him out on that.
