Cpeaned my brand new car this morning. Lifted wiper blades to clean underneath and they scrapped all the paint off along the side of the hood. Very little reaction when I spoke to the service department, except that the wipers are maybe designed to fit too closely??? Anybody else had this problem and what can I do?

I'm going through the same issue. Everyone sells wipers with the "J hook" thing in the center, but on the 2014+ Rogue the hook thing is offset to the side. This makes it so the driver wiper stops a good 1-1.5" shorter of where it should stop, if you use an aftermarket replacement. Some people might say that's a minor thing, but it irritated me to have a 2-2.5" wide area on the left of my windshield not getting wiped when the factory wipers go way closer to the edge of the visible area.

Are the blades re-fillable? I may have to go that route. Unless someone has an idea on how I can adjust the travel distance of the wiper arms (which I don't think is possible).

Edit: Found this but might as well just buy the OEM part from the dealer at these prices... http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00509 ... automotive My dealer carries the OEM blades for $19.95 each.
I think the OEM blades are refillable. You just need to go to your dealer to order the right refills. Seems that the part numbers are 288954CC0B and 288954CC0A. Nissan Parts online lists them to be $11.45 a piece.
I don't know what differences there are in the 2015 Rogues regarding wipers. I have a 2015 Rogue Select. The wiper blades have the "J" in the center like most other cars, not on the side as referenced in this thread. I got mine today at Wallyworld for about $10 each, one 26" and one 14" (not a 16").

That's because your "Rogue Select" is a 1st generation model. The info in this thread is for the 2nd generation Rogue, so it DOES NOT APPLY to your vehicle.

Thanks for the clarification. Big difference in wipers for 2nd Gen having a weird design and the 1st Gen having a more "conventional" design. I like the price for the 1st Gen. :-)

I just went to the dealer last week and they have more economic Nissan wiper blades, seems Nissan heard us on complaining they are too expensive, picked my ones up for $14 drivers side and $11 passenger side, all original Nissan..

Hi all
I have a 2016 Rogue. It sound like I can raise my front wopers to prevent from freezing. The hood doesnt allow me. Whats the workaround? Anyone knows?

mac here , this is the "quick & stupid" response FWIW ( no pics to go by , don't know your vehicle , do know wipers tho !) . Can you put something like body-work plastic Bondo applicators (they are thin ) whereas you hold the thick end and shove them under / remove them when ready to drive , in morning ? I assume . Easy in, easy out they will raise the rubber blades from touching & freezing stuck to window surface ?

Shut the engine off before the wipers come to their fully parked position. Then just lift the arms.

Mac, thank you I will try that.
Funny that when I shut off the engine while wipersbare still not in home position, eventhough the car is off but the wipers go back to home position! Weird! Haha

Thanks,
Hedieh

Regardless if you lift the wipers up from the parked position or not, you will risk chipping the paint from the hood, at the place where the arms and hood meet. Place some type of paper or microfiber towel behind the arm so nothing will happen.

Had you searched first, you'd have found this thread as the 6th post down, and you would have had your answer.

While your car is on, push the wiper stalk up twice very quickly (the same way you use it if you want a single wiper pass) and it'll raise the wipers to a service position. Then you can pull your wipers off the glass and leave them raised until you return to your car.
