When I was doing my research everyone was saying it was on the right side. I'm guessing midway through the 2014 production year, they decided to change the location or I have a 2013 that was sold as a 2014.
Neither of those suppositions are correct. Nissan continued to make and sell the 1st gen for 2014 and 2015. The only trim level available for those two model years is the SELECT (on previous years, it would have been referred to as the base/S version).

The recommended interval are in the manual. I follow those.

The filter intervals in the manual are just a guideline. If you drive in a very dusty or polluted area you will need to change the filters more often.

Replacement interval every 12-18 months seems to work for NW Oregon. If it had a rain filter I'd have to change it every week. ;)

I just changed mine in October, and god dang it Nissan; ya gotta put the CAF in the most complicated, pains taking area to put it. Why not place it somewhere where your spine and knees doesn't have to get painful. Nissan, once again, screws up in some department.
