I absolutely love my 2015 rogue SL with tech. package, but I'm constantly getting false warning from the BSW lights (mostly when it rains). This SHOULD NOT be happening. I've taken the car twice to the dealership and they told me that they have never heard of this "ISSUE". They ran a diognostic test and everything comes back normal. They actually told me to turn off the system if it's giving me this many problems and distractions. I did't like their response. I've now opened a case with Nissan Consumer Affairs and I'm awaiting a resolution of this. I feel like this should be address ASAP. I made sure I purchase the rogue with this safety package and it's NOT working correctly, especially when it's most need. I would like to know if there are others on here that are having the same problem and what if any resolution has Nissan done to address this safety hazard. My understanding is that the 2016 rogues are NOT affected. Thanks

That's because they switched from a camera-based system to a radar-based system in the 2016 model after recognizing that the camera wasn't the best in the rain. As for me, I still monitor my mirrors and habitually turn my head when I'm changing lanes to make sure it's clear. BSW helps but certainly isn't the cure for everything. Just today, a guy almost changed lanes into my car even though I could clearly see his BSW light lit on his side mirror. The BSW tech helps but it'll never be a 100% replacement for situational awareness and visual confirmation.

I realize your Rogue has the new system, however it is still exhibiting the same problems the original system did. If you read through the previous posts, you'll gain a little more insight. I've merged the two threads as while the two systems employ different technologies, they seem to be susceptible to the same false positives. If you do (or don't) get anywhere with Nissan, owners of the older system would benefit from knowing about it.

@Rogue One, I have to correct you as Lisbonlad has a 2015 which has the the older camera base system. As much as I wanted the tech package, in Canada it was only available with the 3rd row seating which I did not want. With all the issues I've read, I'm glad I didn't get it. Old school for me and turn my head to check my blind spots.

We are about to purchase a new 2016 Rogue and I happened across this board. The choice is between an SV with no packages and an SL with the premium package. I know that probably sounds strange, but the reason is trying to decide between going for max value at lowest cost vs splurging. The blind spot warning seems like a good idea but only if it's reliable. So do I understand correctly they have improved the function for 2016 by switching to radar vs the camera system?

I have a 2016 SL with the premium package and my BSW system works perfectly no issues at all.

Hello
I am wondering if anyone has experience with Lane Departure Prevent feature. I am located in Canada and purchase a 2017 Rogue SL that is supposed to have the LDP feature. According to the owner manual under Drive Assist >> Lane >> I should see 2 option Warning & Assist, but I don't see 'Assist', I brought this back to the dealer and they it is a misprint, Warning and Assist are combined into "Warning", but I don't feel any feedback when I go off the lane in my drive to test this feature, all I have is the audio warning and display on the dash. Can anyone comment if they have used this LDP feature?

thanks Keith

Not sure why it would be a misprint...Nissan Canada and Nissan USA websites both list LDP as standard on the SL Platinum/Premium models.

I have written to Nissan Canada last night, so is waiting for their reply but nothing so far today. I am surprised that they didn't even generate an auto reply that they have received my email. I am hoping to find someone else on this forum with a similar Rogue SL and see if the feature is in their car. thanks for your reply.

My 2017 Rogue SL has the same thing. Lane Departure Warning is listed in the control center list but Lane Departure Prevention is not. When I push the safety shield button on the lower left dash panel the lane departure works. It also appears to work without pushing the button as long as the cruise is on. I too am confused as to why all the literature shows the settings in the control center when it is clearly not there. My vehicle is a Japan VIN vehicle if that matters.

Larry80 - thank you for replying. That safety shield button doesn't seem to make any different for me. When you say it works, what are you feeling on the steering wheel? Do you feel a pull or rumble because I don't feel any feedback at all which I expected the feature to provide some sort vibration or steering pull in the opposite direction when going off the lane.
I will have check my VIN tomorrow in the light.
thanks Keith

The lane departure prevention is produced by the braking system as I understand it. The steering wheel will not pull you back into your lane. How I describe it is the vehicle feels like it is hitting a small invisible bumper and it will slow you down a bit. You will know when you have it on. The alert will go off first then the departure system will kick in. It's not autopilot!

Larry thank you, I will try it some more but so far it is doing the warning part (sound) very well, but no feeling of slow down, bump or any feedback yet that I can sense.

I have bsw on my rogue, but recently drove a rental car with blind zone mirrors. They were great, next time I'll get both, but if I had to chose, I'd take the blind zone mirrors....that's how well they worked.

Yes, RogueOne, I saw all the videos that you posted prior to your posting, it's just that the software on my vehicle and the videos and owners manual do not reflect what I am seeing on my vehicle.
