Is that HKS filter NEW? i always thought the purple would be a little brighter, it's pretty crazy how similar the 2 car's are with the pink/purple accents.
yeah man its brand new, kinda pisses me off actually, i thought it would be vibrant purple like the rest of theyre products, after i get the car running and what not i may switch colors. Engine bay is pretty similar i would agree, i loved how the HKS fuel rail accented everything so i ran with that color. Im still brainstorming what im gunna do to the main timing cover, black or purple, but im thinkin i wanna put "2JZ " in some pretty cool white font.

wow dude i figured you'd be in Calgary or Edmonton but lethy that's sweet man! unfortunately my 240 is no where near anything except getting the engine pulled. Id still love to come hang out though haha. My car will be at the Churchill show and shine on the 19th, if your car is done by then it would be wicked to see it there.

Hey guys havent posted in awhile, I was holding back some progress due to hopefully being done at xmas break, but it proved to be way too short of a time frame and I only could get a couple days work in. My time frame is hopefully in the spring when I can get back for more than just a bit, but I did get a guy to help with some of the main wiring.

My main to do list as of right now is:

1.Have to plug in the rest of the harness to everything, try and organize the existing little mess to clean it up and hide as much as possible (if anyone has pointers im all ears)
2.Dakota boxes so I can put the speedo and tach back in
3. Power steering lines need to be attached
4. Thottle Cable Line
5. Finish HVAC lines,
6. Find a place to mount the Filter relocator and run oil cooler lines
7. Random hoses for boostcontroller, wastegate, guages etc.

So basically im quite close :)

Anyways im not one for much talk so here's the pics!

Yes that is swaybar mount, happens to fit very nicely around the earl's filter
Image

Mockups for stainless covers
Image

Exhaust all finished up and in place
Image

Tight fit forsure
Image

Coverter Done
Image

Slave Cylinder done after some random lines from Canadian Tire and Fittings haha, need some inspection plates still tho.
Image

Image

Made some room for the rad to sit nicely. Also the waterpump bolts had to be ground flat for it to fit :S
Image

Wastegate chillin out
Image

Fuel System all setup
Image

Engine cover needed some tlc, the letters were suprising hard to get off, but the front just needed a blowtorch and a good supply of exacto blades.
Image

Hows that for a party piece :) This engine cover is gunna look sick, I promise.
Image

Image

Trunk all finished up
Image

Fan setup
Image

Interior pic as it sits right now, (bad quality) just chillin
Image

All the piping on and whatnot
Image

Stance... (ehemm..dont mind the hood not closed)
Image

Om nom nom
Image

As she sits currently :)
Image

Im hoping everything goes smoothly, i want to tear the road up with this car :)

Nope, 08, but i probably know who she is. Ill shoot you a pm of when Im coming back in the spring and you can comeover and check it in person if you would like.

Some of the parts of from Bings but nothing major, Koyo Rad (KA), Sway Bar End Links and Catch Can. They have good prices and customer service from my expierience. Im not close to my binder of receipts but iirc (i bought most of my parts a long time ago), myjzswap, rhdjapan for niche products, silicone intakes, vividracing, etc. If your looking for a specific part pm me and ill see if i can help!

Thanks for the feedback guys,

I dont quite know how to tell you this....

But I'm back! :)

Great news, after alot of leaks,trial/ error and phone calls to Shaun at myjzswap.. we fired the car up for the first time last week :D It was quite the moment, even tho it was running extremely rich from not changing the injector map. This week ive been tearing the temporary things down and putting them back permanently in the same sorta style as the rest of the build. Took the entire harness apart and cleaned it up, cleaned all the interior wiring for the Greddy units, unfortunately my remote switching button decided to stop working, so I cant get everything tucked away until that gets sorted out. But I cant wait to post up the progress on that, cuz im stoked how it turned out! I would like to have the car rolling this weekend, but we'll see what happens!

Fan controller sensor..JB Weld FTW!

Turbo Coolant Lines

A lot of work for a fuel press gauge!

PS Resevoir

All the pieces here..just have to make it work

Engine Cover all finished! Props to Shakerio for the decal, turned out awesome!

All for now, expect some serious shaking and moving tho :)

Another Update:

Got the car running better, there was a few vacuum leaks, oil leaks (both pans had to be taken out and redone, which meant pulling the motor basically) but still a little rich and sounds like its missing a bit, hopefully some p-fc time can sort that out, but I'm open to suggestions!

Rear Coolant Neck Before
Image

After, the braided way of dealing with things!
Image

Block off plate for the unused ports and IACV Line
Image
Image

3 Bar Map sensor, Greddy Boost Solenoid and IAVC all done and mounted.
Image

Covers to keep everything looking clean, and for some extra accent.
Image

All lights are working nicely, the d-maxx lights set the tail off!
Image

Fusebox and wire cleanup done, for the moment but I have some other ideas.
Image

A little relay wiring for the fans and some cleaning up
Image

The Inspiration
Image

After drilling out the spot welds and some persuasion, was able to get the stock mounts out of the way for this bad boy. The right side of the locking bar has a spring attached to it and the left side has a little extra plate for some leverage to be pushed on and release the lock.
Image

Enter the complicated unlocking mechanism:
Image

Lines all in their spot :) There are big plans for the center console..
Image

All until the end of the weekend!

Wow, I remember the beginning of this from a LONG time ago.

Great craftsmanship and parts going into this thing. It should be worth the wait once it's all done. :bigthumb:

It's build like yours that inspire me to keep my hatch and completely rework it once I'm done with school and have the money.
Anyways, super clean build and keep up the awesome work! Post a vid once it's all finished. :bigthumb:

Update, engine is 99% complete mechanically, and running better after changing plugs, but still rich, I pinpointed it to the absence of a factory 02 sensor, so this week im going to try and run off the LM-2 and turn the second channel into a narrowband. Not sure how thats going to go tho, dont really know where to start lol. Anyways, im on to the interior now, getting this done in a clean manner is a fairly involved process, I give mad props to guys like Broadfield that are doing a damn good job. Just trim and a few random wires to finish up now.

My DD, 2001 Golf GTI 1.8T APR Chipped, finally got some new rubber on my summer wheels so i thought id post up a pic, "Klaus" is trying to mimmick the S13 stance haha

New toys! Been dealing with 12v mastercraft for the last couple years :(

Wideband Mount

Switches Mockup

Finished

Cleans it up a bit

Glove box all finito, (Left to Right) Multi-switching controlling fans, Turbo Timer, Profec II

Center console all finished, finally! Just have to do the headunit area after the Dakota boxes get calibrated

Gracais senor, i plan on swtiching a few things up and doing some serious work to the presence of any wires in the bay once everything is peachy.

No comment on the first question, its dependant on a few factors, but if i can, i will. No I did all the work, with the help of a few people at certain times. The first part of this thread was lost when the site changed, i just havent got around to editing the beginning in, but i will.
Pm'd about the last part.

Here's a couple snaps of the car I forgot to post, just completely put back together, but w/o suspension adjustment. Hopefully once school is over, it can be tuned and there will be madness.

All for now, and all the best.

Once again school is out and im back to my "project", this will *fingers crossed* be the last summer I need to work on it. Im in a good position for getting this thing tuned, so driveability should be in the near future. I got it all settled in the garage next to my room mates R32 GTR and decided to snap a pic just to revive this thing!

Hey All,

Small Update,

Things have been a little slow, since i've been in the process of doing some landscaping at the place I live in currently. But nonetheless, car show in two weekends in my hometown and Im stoked that this is the first time in 6 years that ill have a good chance of being in it! Very small checklist of things too get finished, but I will be focusing on having the engine bay looking pristine as it would be awesome to take home best engine ;)

One thing I have been plagued with is rub on the front wheels, not getting near full lock before this happens. If anyone has any tricks, im all ears, they are 18X9.5 +12 w/ 235 tire. But I adjusted the camber on the Megan's so we will see how that pans out.
Image

Picked up a waxer/polisher, been having a go at that, so far seems to be turning out pretty well! The car is suuuper smooth in the area's ive done.

Image

Image

Now onto the big news.. The Apexi Power FC is no more, sold yesterday! Onto much more powerful and better things...

Stay tuned to find out what is replacing it :D mwhahaha and expect a video of it running a hell of alot better than it was before!

Im excited to see how much better the car will run with this ECU now :) Just doing a little coilover adjustment and random odd jobs this weekend, hopefully a video tommorow ;)

Another season is starting and I'm back again with what promises to be an exciting year, although I wont be acquiring any crazy parts I should have some cool videos and photos. Today being none the exception as I got some semi-professional photography done to submit for a magazine once my dyno'ing is complete, props to Mitchum. I sold my Megan coilovers and I'm in the market for a set of HSD's as KW doesn't have any top-hat camber adjustment. But enough about the boring stuff, here's some pics, enjoy!

Everything is now braided and has fittings
Image

Turbo side has received heat wrap on everything relatively close, good for 1200 degrees C direct contact and the ties will do 205 degrees C
Image

Image

This should cut down on some of the ambient heat entering the cabin.

Now onto the photoshoot:

Hoping to get a dyno video up once the snow starts too clear, Salut for now!
