exactly, japan makes some of the nicest cars on the market, like lexus and such, or INFINITI!!, you cant tell me the Q45 isnt every bit as nice as a BMW, atleast to me it is

I really want to get one of the Presidents, i think the last gen Q was the same, just an Infiniti. Sooooo nice, like the only mass-made Nissan in Japan for the public that is around $80k.

well the TVR tuscan speed 6 is one bad mofo, 37ohp straight 6, but we dont get em in the u.s, they usually go for 8ok ish, and yea id like a m3 over a lot of japanese cars, but for a much different reason than a Q45, if it came to luxury, i like the Q

And yes, I think you can get the TVRs in the us. I think i heard some rumors a few months back that by this year you would be able to buy a TVR in the states. I think for now you have to import it yourself, because no dealership has them or will bring them in. It is not a wise decision if the public is not informed that such a car exists and what numbers it pushes.

UK car magazines are a God-send. Tons of good info on cars such as TVR. Anyways, i was recently reading about many many years ago, there was a guy shipping TVR's to the US as kit cars and installing various small block V-8 and being total mopar killers and trackday weapons. The rumor mill is hinting at factory TVR's being sold in the US, but i'm sure this is a very long way off.

My UK source in Blackpool says TVR is entertaining offers from wealthy Americans who wish to purchase and import a TVR. I'd say it'll be a situation much like with importing Skylines... a very expensive process to be sure. As yet, i have no info on the specifics, but TVR's on US streets can only be a good thing. Power, handling, light weight. BTW, Lotus Elise is supposed to be here in '04... can't wait!!

yea, as soon as someone has the balls to put some power in the ELISE, its gonna kill, the suspension and chassis is damn near perfect, of course this is somewhat due to its weight, but even still, and also, that new body style, oh man!!so fine, the TVR speed 6 costs 8ok new, so for importing and such, it will be only for the superrich, but it does have an inline6 producing 369bhp and 328ft lbs of tq, this car WILL keep up with zo6s that have more hp, maybe even beat hte vettes due to weight, and handling, WOW!!

The same basic principles hold true for the Elise....weight, handling, power to weight ratio. I agree that more power is usually better... didn't SCC do a comparo with a type-r powered elise vs. mustang cobra R ??

In any case, the Elise is gonna be IMO the new trackday weapon from hell.

yeah, SCC did do a comparison, and the Elise owned the Cobra in 90% of the events if not all. they said the thing handled like a dream and was a great car despite the low power out-put compared to the Cobra. and the fact that the car weighs like 2000lbs also helps a lot.

Has anyone seen the Koneggsegg(sp) CC. damn near the most bad @$$ production car around.

yeah i read about Koenigsegg(sp) in EVO magazine. another instrument of evil and hooliganism.. they ran it in the SNOW!! a supercar. in the snow. EVO is probably one of the best car enthusiast mags around. it deals with mainly performance cars, but does not cater to any specific car manufacturer. it's the SCC for the UK, IMO, just w/o rice and way fewer crap advertisments.

Attention all car enthusiasts!! EVO magazine is a must have! I find mine at Borders books, but i'm sure it is available at most large book/magazine retailers. a UK magazine it is, but the articles are to die for. They cover the good stuff. The stuff we WISH we had and dream about driving. Audi TT 3.2 V-6... Pagani Zonda.. 911GT3... Ferrari anything... Lambo everything...the full spec Mitsu Evo 8... WRX STI, which has been in UK for some time now...Koenigsegg...the unheard of Farboud supercar... and two months ago they covered the street ready race car called the Radical SR3 (that SuperTunerTV did a small piece on, aired this weekend). Aston MArtin, VW Golf R32(one mean car, considering it's a golf). They also cover senseless mind boggling machines like the Bugatti Veyron(1000HP, AWD) and the Mclaren F1. They also interviewed Gordon Murray, builder of said McLaren. Can't seem to find this kinda good car guy lust factor stuff in U.S. magazines. The list of drool material and eye candy is ENDLESS. Audi S8, RS6, new S4... all articles done months ago. I've seen buying guides for TVR, Ford Escort Cosworth, Lotus Elise and Lotus Exige.. and on and on. Caterhams, how many of us have even heard of this? It's a literbike powered(Busa or Fireblade is what i've seen so far) open ****pit trackday car. And U.S. mags are just now getting around to covering these cars. Thank the good Lord that some of these machines are finally coming to the U.S. This is just a small tidbit of what these mags offer. If you can find it, buy it.

one last bit: EVO, March '03 issue includes a letter from Christian V. Koenigsegg, in which he calls out Gordon Murray(of McLaren F1) and offers him a test ride in the Koenigsegg

That's a very nice car. But as far as the original question goes...I'd get the Porsche. The reason we all get the 240s and other cars is because we can't afford the more expensive ones. If all cars were the same price, we'd probably all be driving Skylines and exotics.
