So I've read a bunch of the forums, and I thought I had the problem solved. We've replaced the spark plugs, wires, fuel injectors - and it was still running like crap. We did the self diagnostic with the ECU - and it gave me 34 (knock sensor.)

So last night I replaced my knock sensor, which was cracked as all get out - I started her up and it was still running like crap. It used to bog down in 1st and 2nd, but now it bogs in 3rd. It also sounds like it isnt running on all 4 cylinders.

I tried to reset the ecu just a couple minutes ago, thinking that might fix everything. I disconnected the negative on the battery, and pressed down on my brake pedal for a while ( which everyone said to do.) So hopefully that actually reset it.

I checked the code again, and it still says 34 for the knock sensor. Anyone have any ideas?

Check the sub harness man. It's outlined in the FSM.

it sounds more like a MAFs issue, also, it would be a good idea to check the TPS and electrical timing.

shouldnt it come up with that as a failure when you do the diagnostic? It only shows my knock sensor ... of course, I dont know if it will show more than one code or not.

edit-unless of course that other stuff could cause my knock sensor to think there was a knock in my engine - even though it doesnt sound like there is.

No, Mafs doesn't throw a code. It instead uses a preset base map that will 99.9% of the time make the car run like ***. Again, look at the FSM, it outlines the testing procedure.

For a small fee...

*Edit*

I thought I had a copy on the desktop, but I can't seem to find it. I know I have it on the Lappy. I'm too lazy to get it though, so check PhatG20.

Just wanted to make sure you found it. As I'm on the lappy right now, so lazy isn't an optional excuse at the moment...
