also, (more venting), if people ask whether SSAC can work, you probably shouldn't do it! if you ask HOW to make a CHEAP set up, you probably shouldn't do it! Because the fact of the matter is, if you're good enough to make a cheap kit reliable, YOU WOULDN'T BE ASKING IN THE FIRST PLACE.

In conclusion, if you ask how to make a cheap set up, that's a sign to stay away........cause you will blow your car......get pissed...spend all this money on a BUILT motor...then jacking up the built motor because you never learned how to do it right in the first stock motor cause you went cheap.

anyone agree or am I just PMSing male style?

I try to refrain from saying such things...but I agree with almost everything you said. Cheap CAN work, its been done. But cheap can also blow up in your face. The thing is, everyone has to decide for themselves...which leads to all the horror stories and select few success stories. I've been building motors and playing with boost for years, I rushed and took to many short cuts and probably lead myself to my car sitting outside my house with the #3 rod on the wrong side of the block.

Point being, we can all very easily make mistakes.

Not in defense of SSAC, but if you report everything and can weld it when it cracks or add bracing, it can work very well for pretty damn cheap.

hello againi think that i'm a little boring.but, whats the best turbo kit?i want something like 800-1200$.it's that i like so much my s13(ka24e), low milega, and for me that i'm in switzerland, to do a sr or rb swap is very "high price". sorry my english.so i have to decide, ca swap or turbo kit.than i think that the turbo kit is more advantage, i gain more hp/torque and it's more cheaper. thanks guys!

some one from europe(france/switzerland/germany/united kingdom)?thanks

its going to VERY tough to buy a kit for 800-1200 bux... you can go the cheap route (ebay) and hope for good luck.

I say you should make some parts... if you can do that... you will save alot of money.

We are trying to explain that there is no turbo kit for the SOHC. Not only that, but there is no aftermarket for the SOHC. You will be making a Frankenstien motor. You know Frankenstien in Switzerland?

Most of the manifolds are quite expensive or hand welded like the JGS.

Fuel injectors are scavenged and modified like my trimmed RX7 injectors.

The IC piping needs to be done custome as does the down pipe.

You will be more or less on your own for tuning.

Plus, you will be up near $2000 when all is said and done.

All the info you need is on this site. If you insist on doing the KA24e-T you should start searching now because you are going to have to do a lot of research.

Welcome back to Nico!!!

Sorry it had to be after you blew your motor up I'd go with SR20 if I were in Europe. The swap is very easy and there is literally a metric ton of info on how to do it.

Since I turboed my SOHC, let me give you some input.

I ran my SOHC on Precision GT32 Turbo with the JGS manifold, first of all Brian is correct the SOHC does suffer from not having oil squirter's, but to kind of counter that I installed an oil cooler which made a world of a difference on my oil temps.

I ran 8psi all day long and was haulin ***.

As for tuning, I took my old ECU put in a ZIF socket and made my own rom tunes which come to find out was a lot easier then I ever figured out.

All in all the SOHC loved boosted ran with out any problems and the fact that its 9.1:1 compression ratio helped out a lot. I think up to the point where I ran my car into a wall cause of a stupid BMW driver.

The car hasn't really generated any problems for me.

Only reason I really stayed with the SOHC also is cause it was already there and it was just that much easier to boost.

But like everyone said being in Europe and all it might be a pain to source parts for it. I think stickin a something like RB or SR in there might be a really good choice.

But if you decide to stick with the SOHC and have any questions or need help sourcing and parts. Feel free to email me at [email protected] or drop me a message on AIM@ pijaczek18.
