well, as good as it sounds because it costed nothing, i would like if my headlights would go all the way up --to their factory height, and when off go down to sleepy-eye mode, i have H4-aftermarket lamps that have orange (stock color) 194 bulbs aka 'city lights' in side, so when i have my parking lights on they come on too and in sleep-eye mode that would look pretty cool.Hummm. Ok, thanks for the info though!! ;)

I'M GOING OUT ON A LIMB. i respect the guy for all the work, and attention to detail he put into his car. Hate the color of his paint, and the blue on black color scheme he used for the motor/interior (what was he thinking?) But the only real way to express yourself to others with your ride is to dress it up, how ever which way you like (it is your car after all).

People are knocking him for concentrating on looks only, without performance. Which is cheaper, looks or power? In a slow build up process (that is, you don't have 10 g's in your account), dressing up your car is alot cheaper. I, personally want a good mix of looks and performance. I started with the looks cause I don't have cash for a big power gain, and I'm not wasting money on my KA until I figure out what turbo route I am going to take (KAT, SR, RB, CA or other).

Anyway, I'm not really defending the guy, and I don't think that car really deserved to be in a mag, but at least that guy did mention he is going for a VG swap shortly. Rumour has it he did.

Anyway, I have a plan on my car, it went in this order, taking into consideration my financial situation - looks (paint), suspension, brakes, turbo. I am done with the looks of my car, aside from a set of gunmetal rims in the future. You guys think my car is rice? I won't be offended, and I am going for power when funds are available, but just by looks alone, does my car appear ricey to you all? Curious, not looking for a flame war.

Do you guys have any idea how much it costs to locate, and import a body kit from Japan? 30k might be a little inflated, but he definitely spent well over 20g's on that s14, I hope he gets some serious power soon to make all you haters eat your words.

have a great weekend

i understand ur point, and I never said the guy's car was rice. The main point I was trying to make is that for the amount of money he claimed he spent, he could have gotten a lot more ou tof his car, and STILL have killer looks.

Even though upgrades are not often totally thought out, if one would consider how much is spent on the car, one might just invest a bit more and get a skyline or other exotic. But then again, one wouldn't want to put their skylie through the abuse the 240 often sees on the drift track.

ahh well, enough rambling.

BTW. S14=pimpin, your car does not look ricey. what kinda exhaust and intake do u have?

(not the yellow R33)... and theres at least one black 240 at race wars... i didnt spend all my time checkin out the civics.

yeah,later

maximus, I totally agree with you dude. He didn't really spend his money wisely IMO. I would have done alot more work in the performance department as well, and still managed to get good looks for around what he spent. It just bugs me when people fail to see the thought put into his car, I'd love to import a body kit from Japan, but rather spend my funds on something else. Some people just don't care about their coin (I wouldn't if it was mommies). Not to say the guy didn't work ffor his cash, but let him spend it as he likes. The car isn't that bad, I've seen alot more rice than that!

thanks for the compliment, I don't think my car is rice either, but some may disagree. The muffler is a bruellen muffler, very good quality, and sounds nice. Custom piping. My intake is just a cone filter, bought an adapter and wired it up easily. Not investing in this motor, looking to swap in a year or 2 hopefully.

oh, and I'm not addressing my message to anyone in particular, the unanimous reply of negativity was getting to me!

:)

MAXIMUS Nismo wrote:I just got the December issue of SCC and it has this show prepped S14 in it. According to the rag, the car has

"A Dulock body kit, an SPR GT spoiler with custom bridge, and 18-inch Kinesis K29 wheels wrapped with nitto 555 extreme ZR tires."

A greddy header, Apexi NI dual cat-back, and AEM intake. 12 adjustable GAB coil-overs front and rear, a CUSCO STB, suspension techniques anti roll bar, 13.5 Brembos up front w/ stainless steel lines.

The owner said, "everbody that sees it thinks it's a sSKyline or something that came out of the "Fast and the Furioous," though he's quick to point out he got the car before the movie came out and there wasn't even a 240SX in the film."

Future plans include a S15 front-end swap and a last-generation 300ZX twin turbo motor swap with custom turbos and intercooler units. He hopes to have it all done by the end of the year.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

i have a few probs with the car, its a show car but he coulda chosen a "clean" looking show car instead of a ricey looking one.

It seems to me that the amount of money sunk into this car, "the owner claims $30,000", he should have way more performance and other options than he currently has. As it's a nice lookig grossly overpriced 240. There are a number of cars on this forum that would spank the living daylights out of him.

A skyline? People actualy think this guiy drives a skyline? Where does this dweeb live and the gnomes that live in his area must be utterly stoopid. As to there not being a 240 in F&F, didn't Vin's girl or his sis drive one? A redish orange one that she raced a guy with at drag wars?

Anyway, I'll post some pics later. what do you think of his ride?

Vin's girl, drove one, it was the only one in the movie that I saw, except a small clip of another one running in the background at race wars. I like her car, and her driving it made it even better :). The only thing wrong with her car is it looks like a 4x4, it needed to be ajusted down a little more.
