I just got the December issue of SCC and it has this show prepped S14 in it. According to the rag, the car has

"A Dulock body kit, an SPR GT spoiler with custom bridge, and 18-inch Kinesis K29 wheels wrapped with nitto 555 extreme ZR tires."

A greddy header, Apexi NI dual cat-back, and AEM intake. 12 adjustable GAB coil-overs front and rear, a CUSCO STB, suspension techniques anti roll bar, 13.5 Brembos up front w/ stainless steel lines.

The owner said, "everbody that sees it thinks it's a sSKyline or something that came out of the "Fast and the Furioous," though he's quick to point out he got the car before the movie came out and there wasn't even a 240SX in the film."

Future plans include a S15 front-end swap and a last-generation 300ZX twin turbo motor swap with custom turbos and intercooler units. He hopes to have it all done by the end of the year.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

i have a few probs with the car, its a show car but he coulda chosen a "clean" looking show car instead of a ricey looking one.

It seems to me that the amount of money sunk into this car, "the owner claims $30,000", he should have way more performance and other options than he currently has. As it's a nice lookig grossly overpriced 240. There are a number of cars on this forum that would spank the living daylights out of him.

A skyline? People actualy think this guiy drives a skyline? Where does this dweeb live and the gnomes that live in his area must be utterly stoopid. As to there not being a 240 in F&F, didn't Vin's girl or his sis drive one? A redish orange one that she raced a guy with at drag wars?

Anyway, I'll post some pics later. what do you think of his ride?

There were 2 s14's in f&f. There was the one you referred to, and a yellow one with the RHD conversion.

ON another interesting note...... my I/H/E are the EXACT same as you said his were. I haven't spent a penny on the body. But if he dumped$30,000 into his car.... that's about $29,000 in 'other' stuff. I'd guess he spent no more than $5000 in wheels, tires, brakes and suspension. That's using a rough guess of $1,250 per corner. So that leaves him with $24,000 on purchasing the car, and ricing out the body. Even if HALF of that was the price of the car (WAY TOO MUCH) that means he spent at least $12,000 on the body...... WTF........ b.s.!!!

Are you sure you're not talking about the yellow skyline? It was driven by the guy with the police scanner.

yeah SCC, huh.i'm guessing he got jacked on the price of his car, or he bought it new, or he's full of it. and yes there are at least two 240's in F&F, one staring car, vin's sisters purplish S14.5

remember it's prob all his ricer friends saying, "dude your car looks like a skyline!" however i think the S14 has some subtle skyline(R32) attributes to it.

Yeah.. I think the windows and roof line look very similar... perhaps that is why I thought it was a yellow s14 in f&f.

The car in the F & F was purple and it was Vin's g/f not his sister, his sister drives a teal something, integra, I think.

Josh

P.S. The yellow RHD car was a skyline~

ah, i get a subscription to SCC, i love the mag, but that atrocity of a 240 had to go, well i exaggerate, but it was pretty ricey to me, all it needed was the APC windshield banner

i cannot stand that color of paint, i think that was the only thing that came off ricey. it belongs on a boat. Actually, i feel as though i have seen this s14 before, in a previous thread depicting it for sale on Ebay. Hmmm. Well, i am sure there is more than one chameleon paint s14 in the country.

i find it unusual that scc did a full out article on a show car anyhow, it's not like them. the car needs to be as fast as it looks, which to me, doesn't seem like it.

F&F stinks...I didn't go to the theater to watch it...I refused. Nor will I go see the second one in the theater...I may watch it when it comes out on video, but I'm going to try not to.

I thought the S14.5 name was given to S14s with the S15 front end on it? I thought the 98s were called MCS14s, or just S14s.

I don't know man, $30,000 could be right. The car (if he bought new or very close) was probably around 15K, that leaves 15. The body kit plus a good a$$ paint job was probably around 6K, that leaves 9K. Rims and tires, prolly around 2-3K (depending on the wheels) and then the I/H/E around $1500. That leaves around 5K that maybe he just sunk into stupid ****, or just inflating the value of his car.

Nick.

he paid $6500 for the car, its a 95, then he dumped $30K in it and still has the stock motor. Think of how much better a show car it would have if it had a motor swap.

Since the SR20 is becoming somewhat common, not really but bear with me, he coulda put in a CA18 to be more unique.

I think he called the car an S14.5 because it's really a 95 that has a 98 front end. They did a feature on it in Super Street. I think the owner's name is Jasmine Cho, and the car is silver now. Not that I read Super Street or anything...

OKay I admit it, I like Super Street. It's fast AND furious. Like the movie. Wow, Paul Walker is cool. Did you know that he is a surfer? Go ahead and tell all you friends. You're welcome.

i didn't use a kit. $0 sleepy headlights. what you have to do is once your headlights are up, take of the sheilds housing around the light. look at the arm(threads on both ends, silver on ends, black in the middle) connected to the headlight assembly which is also connected to the motor. pop that arm off of the little Z shaped bracket(silver) that connects the arm to the motor. loosen the bolt on the Z shaped bracket, turn the bracket clockwise about 30% then retighten bolt.....put it all back together. now you headlights will be sleepy turn them on, they will go down then back up. however because the headlights will also no longer go all the way back up you have to rig the headlights(the actual bulb) to aim much higher than the stock adjustment screws allow, in order to light the road. once all that is done ......there you go $0 sleepy eyes lights that light up the road as well.

sorry if my expanation is not all that clear. i tried. opened it up figure out how the lights work. and what makes them pop up and the rest is common sense. if you have any other questions i'll try to help.

No Maximus, I am right. The purple S14 that looks like a 98 in the Fast and the Furious is the one I'm talking about. It is a 95 with a 98 front end and the owner painted it silver after the movie. Exactly what my previous post said.

My initial thought was "what a waste". He spent all that money on paint and body and it's worse than when he got it. I was really dissapointed in SCC. I'm a subsciber because it's the most C/D-like import magazine. It's professionally written, and goes far more in depth than the other rags out there. Seeing that poor 240 in that condition, actually made me check the cover again to see what magazine I was reading.

And then I wrote my first post. So that is the car I'm talking about. What S14.5 are YOU talking about? You can be right if you want, but...:yesnod
